ABC mystery thriller, Big Sky is a great show to watch if you’re searching for a show with a lot of mysteries to uncover and plenty of twists and turns. When Big Sky premiered in November 2020, it soon became a fan favorite and streaming hit for ABC throughout its first two seasons. The series attracted 11.1 million viewers, accounting for around 31% of total viewers and more than half of the 18-49 demographic.
The show is based on C.J. Box’s popular novel series The Highway. Cassie Dewell (Burbury) and Cody Hoyt (Winnick) partner together to solve mysterious cases that stalk a tiny Montana town. While the first season brought the ex-cop and private detective down a perilous path in the wake of a strange highway kidnapping, the second season saw them investigate a vehicle accident that revealed shocking secrets from their history. Justin’s father, Cody was cruelly killed off by the end of season 1 in a surprising plot twist.
Season 2 of Big Sky resumed the search for Ronald and Scarlet (Anja Savcic), as a fresh mystery unfolded after a group of Big Sky youths witnessed a murder and took the duffel bag of cash. Cassie and Jenny are both researching the same case, and the kids become involved. Jenny discovers that an old flame, Travis (Logan Marshall-Green), is working undercover for the town’s drug dealers. As the story progressed, the youngsters eventually escaped their predicament and moved on with their lives.
The Bhullar crime family and their business in the town dominated the second part of season 2. The Big sky Season 2 finale, finally gives Ren and Jag Bhullar (Janina Gavankar, Vinny Chhibber) some closure regarding their despotic, father, drug kingpin Veer Bhullar (Bernard White) who is also in the sights of Travis (Logan Marshall-Green). After jawing about it all season, he finally makes his move to seek revenge. Ren is hellbent on taking over the family drug business once and for all. The stage is set for Sunny Brick, an eventual showdown with Cassie, Jenny, and the rest of the gang in the season finale.
