Good Sam Season 1 Episode 9 Recap

A little too much fun at the hospital for Sam and Caleb. Suddenly, Caleb interrupts, telling Sam she needs to talk to Griff because she’s been avoiding him for two weeks now. Sam hasn’t called Vivian yet, which is understandable given that she’s still at a conference and Sam is ignoring her calls. Meanwhile, Griff tries to assist in the trauma center, but Sam tells him that he has to obtain supplies because he’s still in PTSD treatment. The commotion begins in the emergency room, as a young boy named Kevin is brought in after being hit by a bus that has skidded off the road. Kevin isn’t the only one who has ended up in the ER as a result of that bus. After hitting him, the plane crashed, and there are more passengers on board than there are rooms. There aren’t enough personnel to aid because of the storms, and the crash happened during a shift change. Carla, a woman who was injured in the incident, is brought in, and she is not pleased. Meanwhile, Dorothy, the bus driver, is brought in with a contusion from the steering wheel and glass in her knuckles. Sam and Lex manually decrease a femur fracture after discovering it, but Dorothy does not react to the pain. Carla informs Lex that she should be in jail for attempted homicide when Lex walks past her.

Dorothy, in fact, suffers from bipolar disorder. Lex suggests Joey utilize the wellness center’s water tanks, and he’ll figure out how to sterilize it because it’s similar to heart surgery. While Joey is able to provide Carla with water for her dialysis, Lex discovers that all of Dorothy’s tests have come back negative, with the exception of a pregnancy test. Meanwhile, Carla’s heart is depleted of oxygen as a result of her inaction. Kevin is unable to obtain imaging due to a CT backlog. Kevin’s parents, who are stranded at a deli, are on the phone. Kevin’s heart is moving back to his left side as a result of the thoracostamy. he will require surgery. Kevin does not want to have heart surgery and instead wishes to return home. The Wi-Fi goes out due to the storm. Griff keeps Kevin company and talks to him about the procedure and dying, first stating that he will not do the surgery. Kevin, on the other hand, gives in and tells him he won’t die. Sam and Griff can’t agree on treatment for Kevin. All roads have been closed due to the declaration of a state of emergency. Every elective procedure in the OR is canceled, and Sam receives a blood bank inventory. They’re not going to stop till the storm passes. Sam heads upstairs to the overflow room, which is extremely busy. Donna isn’t alone, though, because Malcolm is assisting her. Malcolm inquires if she requires assistance, and Sam brings up the blood shortage. The hospital is lacking in more than just blood and employees. The pipes have frozen over, and it’s not long until they’re discovered. Because no one can provide additional blood due to the bridge collapse, blood must be rationed.

Caleb offers to assist, and they all get right to work. The power goes out right at the start of Kevin’s six-hour surgery, as if things couldn’t get any worse. While the generator is turned on in other parts of the hospital, the OR remains dark. Sam is caught on a decision because the blood needed for the surgery has two other demands. Tim discusses wedding bands with Joey, but that is the last thing on Joey’s mind.Another alert was dispatched by dispatch; an overpass on I-75 had collapsed. Joey discovers it’s close to Tim’s last known location. Carla senses something is awry while Joey prepares Carla’s dialysis, and Joey discloses that his fiancée is stranded in the storm.

Kevin awakens from his surgery, still in the operating room due to the power outage. The electricity is restored after Sam locates Griff in the OR with Kevin, who had stayed there all night. Kevin had a rough night, according to Griff, but Sam was never alone. He implores his daughter to speak with Vivian. Dorothy is now OK. She accuses herself of being to blame f., but Lex assures her that it was not her fault. Despite Malcolm and Caleb’s collaboration, the blood drive was a huge success. Another major accomplishment is Tim’s return to the hospital, where he is doing well. He and Joey share a touching reunion during which they both apologise for the rings. The ecstatic reunion is joined by Sam and Lex. Caleb, on the other hand, reminds them of what they’ve all done. When the Wi-Fi is restored, everyone can see just how bad the I-75 overpass collapse was. When Griff informs Sam that Kevin’s parents have arrived, but have not entered through the front door. Meanwhile, more victims are being admitted to the ER, and while Griff and Sam are watching the news, Sam notices an overturned automobile she recognizes as Vivian’s.
