Who is Spotted Eagle in Y:1883 Series? Why Does This Look So Familiar?

As a prequel to the Western drama series Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan made 1883, which tells how the Dutton family’s ancestors came to own such a large piece of land. Tim McGraw, a country musician turned actor, plays James Dutton, John Dutton’s great-grandfather, who wants to settle his family in Montana. Tim McGraw is accompanied by his real-life wife, fellow musician-turned-actor Faith Hill, and two children, daughter Elsa (Isabel May) and son John (Audie Rick).

“1883,” a Western prequel series, the finale is on the way on Paramount+. During season 1, many faces were seen, some were moving forward and some were left behind. The show’s finale episode titled “This Is Not Your Heaven” featured some familiar faces. But when another new name, Graham Greene has been added to the guest cast, fans are freaking out about it. Who is this after all? And what character is going to play in “1883”, why this face looks so familiar.

Graham Greene portrays Spotted Eagle

The Dutton family embarks on a trek west via the Great Plains in this prequel series. Greene will play Spotted Eagle, a Crow elder who sees the wagon train and informs James Dutton about Paradise Valley, where he and his family should make their home.

Who is Graham Greene?

Greene was born in 1952 in Oshweken, Ontario, on the Six Nations Reserve. He graduated from the Native Theatre School program at the Centre for Indigenous Theatre in Toronto in 1974. He began his career in theatre soon after. Here’s why “1883”‘s Spotted Eagle looks so familiar.

Graham Greene was recognized for his roles in films such as “The Green Mile,” “Maverick,” and “Wind River,” the latter of which was written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, the writer of “1883” and “Yellowstone.”  He is also “Northern Exposure,” “The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon,” “Longmire,” and “Goliath” are among his television credits. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in “Dances with Wolves” as Kicking Bird (Zitká Nagwáka).  Greene also played Harry Clearwater in the “Twilight” saga, Malachi Strand on “Longmire,” and performed the voice for Chief Rains Fall in the video game “Red Dead Redemption II” in 2018.
