Westworld Season 4 Episode 2

The episode starts with William/the Man in Black attacking Clementine in her house. After shooting her, he demands that she reveal Maeve’s hiding place. Despite this, it isn’t certain which William would assault Clementine and which one will be responsible for the cartel’s massacre at the Hoover Dam in episode 2. ( Dolores-Hale appeared to replace the real William with a host copy at the end of Season 3). Visual cues from the show already imply that Dolores-Hale is employing a  divide and conquer strategy with this William replica. In the episode, the Man in Black dons his cowboy attire from the first two seasons instead of the fancy formal dress he was wearing during the season opener as he grabbed possession of a secret data bank. Although a change of clothes is possible, we wager that Hale has used several Williams.

Christina is in a panic. She had just finished a tearful meta-monologue on her rooftop when we last saw her, and she was getting ready to go to bed. She now wants to know why the man who had been stalking her for weeks and holding her responsible for his pain just committed suicide. Maeve and Caleb struggle with their own riddle as Christina conducts her investigation. The two set out to see Senator Ken Whitney, a former colleague of William’s. When they get to the man’s house, they quickly realize that William and Dolores-Hale have substituted host copies for the senator and his wife. Maeve uses her power to manipulate other hosts to extract information from the other host after killing one of the hosts. She and Caleb make their way to an opera theatre equipped with what they require. They rapidly learn that the enormous theatre is empty and a trap. A short while later, they are taken away on a train that looks a lot like the one that took gun-happy visitors to an android-filled theme park. Yes, Maeve and Caleb are traveling to a brand-new Delos attraction.

Clementine meets with representatives of the Justice Department at Delos HQ. Clementine stands her stance despite their demands for time with the company’s leadership while they look into Delos. She answers calmly when confronted with “the complete power of the U.s Government”: “Yes, but do you have an appointment?” The chief Justice Department official is ambushed and killed later in the episode by Clementine and Dolores-Hale. Christina’s investigation produces ambiguous findings. She visits the Hope Center for Mental Health in search of information, where she discovers a whole wing devoted to Peter Myers, the deceased subject of her investigation. She thinks back to his obituary, which noted his most recent gifts to the hospital, but she understands that the wing was established in his honor years ago.

Drawings of a tower can be seen in one of the rooms as she attempts to make sense of this. And a tower has been mentioned before. Christina came across a homeless man who was complaining about “the music with no sound” that was “coming from the tower” earlier in the episode (and briefly during the premiere). Return to William, who is out on his personal golf course playing a round of golf when the vice president and his Secret Service entourage arrive. William strikes the vice president with his club during the encounter, and Clementine, who is nearby maintaining watch, murders the two Secret Service agents. In another scene, Dolores-Hale gently awakens (the real) William from his induced slumber in a cloning machine before lulling him back to sleep and informing him that she is going to wipe out his kind. The second episode of Season 4 ends with William wowing a crowd with a brand-new amusement park that is based in 1930s America.
