Just looking at the promo below, it appears the wait is over. The cops are knocking on Conrad’s door, bearing unpleasant news. Was Nic in an accident returning? Was she harmed or killed? Conrad may possibly become a single father, a role made more difficult by his demanding career. Meanwhile, we also meet newcomer Miles Fowler as Billie’s (Jessica Lucas) estranged son, who unexpectedly meets paths with Billie at Chastain. The Resident Episode 502 Synopsis:  When one of the doctors is found unconscious in an elevator at Chastain, the staff frantically retraces his steps to figure out the cause. Billie is faced with a personal conflict when she comes face-to-face with the secret she has been hiding all these years. The Resident Season 5 Episode 1 Recap

Nic (Emily VanCamp) goes to a spa getaway, and Conrad (Matt Czuchry) is alone with the infant for the first time. He attempts to persuade Gigi to pronounce “da da.“Chastain is now in the black, according to Kit. She and Bell (Bruce Greenwood) are eating breakfast when they receive notification of a cyber-ransom attack. In the elevator, Devon and Leela are kissing. Devon suggests that he and Leela (Anuja Joshi) pool their funds and relocate to a particular location. A drunk driver plows through a 5K that AJ (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) was running, and he drags one of his pals, Winston, along with him. Winston was pushed out by a young adolescent. Este, AJ’s youth center pupil, has been hurt. Conrad needs to get Gigi down at the hospital daycare immediately so he can get to work on Este. The hospital’s equipment is malfunctioning. Five million dollars is the amount demanded by the hackers.

Dr. Kit Voss (Jane Leeves) is being blamed by the board for the hack, and the board has threatened to dismiss Kit and Marshall if they do not solve it. Este freaks out when the cyberattack hits imaging when she is getting looked up. When Kit tried to negotiate with them, they doubled their demands. Devon contacts an old college friend who has made it her goal to thwart hackers. As Este’s condition worsens, they are considering moving her. Her father passes out and needs to be revived. Ronan, like Este, went into v-tach, so Conrad looks into Ronan’s cardiac scans from a separate hospital. It reveals that Ronan, his father, and Este have a history of sudden cardiac death in their families. Ronan also has a widowmaker, and they have an hour to perform heart surgery.

Este will also require neurosurgery. Leela shows them the imaging she created from memory from the scan before it went down. They have enough power to run one operating room. They transport both the father and the daughter to the location. The radiology staff is all sick. Ronen codes and dies despite everything they’ve done. AJ and Conrad are both agitated. Winston enters a room in need of assistance. It’s filled with gas, and he’s trapped within. Devon’s friend exposes the hackers. Kit sends the FBI after them. Devon realizes that Winston never checked out and goes to check on him. The whole ward is empty and he finds Winston in the room but the noxious fumes get to him as well. Bell invites Kit out to supper since he doesn’t want to be alone after the patient dies, but she declines.Conrad and Gigi get home, and she finally says Dada.
