Why are Nick and Vanessa Lachey Not Hosting ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’? Explained

The Ultimatum: Queer Love Host – People eagerly await the Netflix spinoff of “The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On,” set to premiere on May 24. Many are asking whether Nick and Vanessa Lachey, hosts of the original show, will also host The Ultimatum: Queer Love; unfortunately, I do not have information regarding specific hosts for this new series.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love follows five couples comprised entirely of women or non-binary individuals who have reached a critical juncture in their relationships, where one partner has expressed enthusiasm about getting married while the other may be experiencing doubts and anxieties about making such a commitment.

Engaged couples looking to explore their feelings and make decisions are invited to participate in an eight-week social experiment that allows them to live with another potential new partner chosen from all the couples experienced in gauging whether they’re ready to commit. After their three-week living arrangement concludes, all couples will gather again for discussions to determine whether to continue with the marriage, end their relationship, or find someone new as potential mates.

Nick and Vanessa Lachey hosted both Season 1 and Season 4 of Love is Blind/The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, so let’s check who is hosting The Ultimatum: Queer Love.

Who is hosting the Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Queer Love?

Unexpectedly, Nick and Vanessa Lachey will no longer host The Ultimatum: Queer Love as planned; instead, JoAnna Garcia Swisher will serve as the hostess.

This new series will follow five LGBT couples facing difficult choices: whether to pursue marriage with their current partners or use this experience to explore other relationships.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, best known for her role on Sweet Magnolias, will take on the hosting role for this show. With experience from previous Netflix productions and being part of the entertainment industry since 1992, JoAnna will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this show.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher first made her acting debut in Superboy (1992). Later, she starred for two seasons (1994-1996) of Are You Afraid of the Dark as Samantha and became well-known through its success.

JoAnna decided to drop out of Florida State University and pursue her dreams of being an actress. She first made an impression in Reba on The CW in 2001, lasting six years on screen before appearing in Privileged and Gossip Girl roles.

JoAnna Garcia Swisher has also made numerous guest appearances on various shows, such as Better with You and Animal Practice, Once Upon a Time, Astronaut Wives Club, The Mindy Project, and Not Another Teen Movie 2, among many others.

Chris Coelen, the creator of the show, recently discussed his choice of JoAnna Garcia Swisher as the new host, replacing the Lacheys, during an interview with Variety. He praised her for joining “the Netflix family” and complimented her hosting abilities.

According to Chris, Swisher’s enthusiasm for hosting was instrumental in their decision to find a new host for both Ultimatum: Queer Love and Ultimatum: Marry or Move On franchises separately.

On May 24 at 3 am ET, Netflix will release the premiere episode of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, allowing viewers to delve deeper into its couples and their decision-making processes.
