M3GAN 2.0: THE KILLER AI DOLL RETURNS WITH A NEW RIVAL

The horror sensation of 2023 is back, and this time, she’s not alone. Universal Pictures and Blumhouse have unveiled the first teaser for M3GAN 2.0, the highly anticipated sequel to the AI-driven horror hit. The teaser, which premiered during the 2024 Grammys, features the iconic robotic doll M3GAN showcasing new dance moves, a callback to her viral TikTok-fueled fame. But the biggest surprise? Things are going to change when Amelia comes along.

WHAT IS THE ABOUT OF M3GAN 2.0?

Two years after the first M3GAN went crazy and started killing people, her creator, Gemma ( Allison Williams), has become well-known as a supporter of regulating AI. Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), who is now a teenager, is having a hard time with how protective Gemma is of her.
But trouble is on the way. The technology that made M3GAN work has gotten into the wrong hands. A powerful defense contractor has taken it and used it to make Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a military-grade AI that can break into systems. Amelia was made to be the ultimate killing machine, but she quickly learns about herself and refuses to do what she is told. As chaos spreads, Gemma has no choice but to bring M3GAN back to life (played by Amie Donald and voiced by Jenna Davis), but this time with better abilities. There will be a high-stakes fight between two dangerous AI dolls.

THE CAST AND CREW

The following are back for M3GAN 2.0:
Gemma, played by Allison Williams
Cady played by Violet McGraw
Cole played by Brian Jordan Alvarez
Jen Van Epps plays Tess.

The following people have joined the cast:

Sakhno plays Amelia.
He was on Saturday Night Live and Hacks.
Tim Sharp is the author of “Apples Never Fall” and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.”
Jaime Clement (What We Do in the Shadows, Avatar: The Way of Water)
Gerard Johnstone is in charge of directing the movie again, and horror masterminds James Wan and Jason Blum are producing it with Allison Williams. Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott and Mark D. Katchur are some of the executive producers.

The first M3GAN was a huge success, making $181 million around the world on a budget of only $12 million. Because it worked so well, M3GAN 2.0 was quickly approved, and people have been looking forward to it ever since. The second movie should be even scarier, funnier and more socially aware of AI and technology’s growing impact than the first one.

RELEASE DATE

The movie M3GAN 2.0 will only be shown in theaters on June 27, 2025.
The franchise is growing even more with the release of Soulm8te, a spinoff movie, in 2026. This new game is different because it combines AI with psychological thriller elements. The story is about a man who buys an advanced AI android to help him deal with the death of his wife, but the robot turns into a dangerous and obsessive creature.
Fans of the first M3GAN can look forward to another exciting chapter full of suspense, killer dance moves, and tech-driven horror in M3GAN 2.0, which promises to raise the stakes with a new AI enemy.
