Mei-Li and Jin must recall their own passionate meeting to help settle a decades-long quarrel, while Ryan and Sebastian deal with the difficulties of keeping their relationship private. While Evan and Henry look for additional clues to stop Russell Tan, Mia and Nicky butt heads. Grover’s shipment must be intercepted before it reaches Juliette, and the diamonds are known as jyu sa. Nicky goes out with Mia to explore when Althea figures out the location. Nicky invites Mia to follow her lead in the secret lab. Mia grudgingly agrees, eager to put an end to Tan’s behavior. Grover and his henchmen are waiting for them inside. When the stones fall to the ground, Mia displays the same catatonic state she experienced before.

Most of the diamonds are taken by Grover and his men, but Nicky manages to steal one. Meanwhile, Henry and Even examine the footage, concluding that music plays an important role in the ceremony. Henry seeks assistance from a musicologist named Eric Han, but Tan’s men burst into Eric’s studio as he does so. Han is revealed to be a member of the Wan Zai, a secret group that possesses the original sheet music for the Yueling song. Henry arrives at Han’s residence, only to be abducted by the Wan Zai, commanded by Henry’s estranged father.
