Grown-Ish Season 4 Episode 11 Recap

Ana hires a scooter and heads home in Grown-ish Season 4 Episode 11 after begging Vivek not to inform anyone about them. A reckless driver in a Buick hit Ana on the way she is rushed to the hospital. When the girls and Vivek arrive at the hospital, Jazz’s only question is about sleeping with Vivek. Ana is enraged that Vivek revealed their connection to Jazz, Nomi, and Zoey, but she believes she caught a glimpse of who attacked her on the street. Ana receives a call from the cops, who inform her that they already have a suspect and that she can go down and try to identify him the next day. Ana learns at the police station that the driver of the Buick that hit her was uninsured, lacked a licence, and was undocumented.

Ana knows the suspect right away when the officer reveals him to her, but she is hesitant to alert the officer because of the boy’s difficult circumstances. Ana explains to Nomi, Jazz, and Zoey at home that she told the cops she needed more time to consider whether the suspect is the man who hit her. Even though she’s certain it’s him, she doesn’t feel good about potentially deporting a 17-year-old youngster with no past criminal record. The females all have opposing viewpoints on the subject. Nomi feels Ana did the correct thing by not recognizing him, but Jazz doesn’t see why the boy’s undocumented status means he can attack Ana and get away with it. Nomi claims that the boy’s situation explains why he fled after hitting her, and that pushing someone off a scooter does not warrant deportation from one’s family. Both Zoey and Ana are torn between empathy for the boy’s undocumented status and rage over the fact that it was still a hit-and-run. Ana visits her ex-boyfriend Javi, still undecided about her decision and in need of assistance on what to say to the cops. He encourages her to tell the truth and consider what would happen if one of her loved ones was gravely injured.

Javi reminds her that she believes in the legal system. Renard, a student at Cal U, approaches Aaron after his midnight class and tries to explain that he’s practically Aaron’s biggest admirer. he came to Cal U in the first place. He reluctantly signs the form allowing Renard to join the class, but he cautions Renard to keep his expectations in check. Doug arrives at Kiela’s door, bruised after telling Luca the truth about their hookup. He invites Kiela out to eat in public, happy that they may now do whatever they want. She explains clumsily that she has a date with someone else tonight. Doug is out of luck because she kept her options open after he told her he didn’t want to jeopardize his friendship with Luca. Later, in Doug and Aaron’s apartment, Doug tells Vivek that he feels humiliated by Kiela’s sudden interest in other guys. Aaron is worried about not meeting Renard’s expectations and hence failing as a teacher. After coping with expulsion, paternal rejection, and a narcotics bust, Vivek has no sympathy for either of them. Kiela is ideal for Doug because he doesn’t want to be in a relationship. Aaron has to quit worrying about becoming his former self and instead focus on becoming the instructor he wanted he had as a student. Naturally, he also reveals that he had an affair with Ana.

Doug goes out on a date with an old buddy, and it turns out that Kiela and her mystery boyfriend are also there. While he’s conversing with his date and Doug pretends to be helping one of his residents, she texts him flirtatiously. They leave their dates behind and slip away to Hawkins 101 to hook up at her request. Ana arrives at the police station determined to speak the truth, but as she observes the individuals entering and exiting the station, she begins to reconsider her position. She informs the females at home that she told the cops they were looking for the wrong guy. She didn’t want a young child to get caught up in a system that he had no hope of opposing after seeing all the people of colour coming in and out of the station. She eventually discovers that she can believe in the system while yet believing that it has to be improved. Vivek brings Ana a helmet the next day to apologise for telling others they were hooked up and to safeguard her on her next scooter ride, but he also thinks she gets to sleep with him the next night. Ana throws him out, but it’s evident that the two still have chemistry.
