In “FBI,” Season 6, Episode 12, the team has to deal with a tough case involving a murder and a dangerous drug operation. At the beginning of the episode, Maggie is still on vacation, so the team has to do their investigation without her. They are told that a body has been found in the Jamaican Wildlife Refuge. Police have named the victim as delivery driver Tim Baker. He and his van were taken hostage. The people who took the kids wanted a tainted batch of piperidone, which is an important part of fentanyl.
The kidnappers used a hired garage as a fentanyl lab, which put the nearby daycare in danger. They kept making the drug even though they knew it was deadly, and they might have made enough to hurt a lot of people.
When four teens overdose at a party, the FBI learns how big the operation is. They found that the drugs came from Nate Becerra, who is the son of former FBI agent Jose Becerra. I used to be friends with Jose, so Jubal goes up to him and finds drugs in Nate’s room. Jose tries to get rid of the proof, but Jubal won’t help.
Jubal talks to Nate and gets him to agree to help by putting on a wire to meet Kevin Thomas, the drug dealer. When things go wrong with the plan, Nate and Jubal are held prisoners in a standoff. His name is Joe, and he runs to the scene of the crime. In the chaos, Nate is shot while trying to get to his dad. Jubal kills the last attacker, but Joe and Jubal can no longer be friends because of it.
