Cruel Summer Season 2 Episode 7 Recap

There are a number of pivotal moments in the episode of Cruel Summer under discussion. Megan gets caught producing fraudulent IDs, and Steve Chambers’ private investigator finds interesting details regarding Ned and Megan’s relationship. In each of the alternate histories, Isabella avoids any wrongdoing. It’s as if Luke and Brent have reversed roles in the family, with Brent now acting like the nicer sibling and Luke acting like a sexist jerk. Steve shocks the audience by coming to Megan’s defense and condemning Ned for abusing a minor.

Based on the private investigator’s findings, Steve now suspects Ned of killing Luke rather than Isabella. Steve and Brent don’t seem suspicious despite hearing that Megan is a “hacker for hire” and that Ned is involved. They think that Ned set Megan up as a victim. Despite seeing Ned’s aggressive behavior firsthand, Megan does not accept the claims against him and instead warns him of the Chambers’ concerns.

Luke, meantime, acts poorly by telling Megan that Isabella is a jealous raving madwoman who is trying to keep them apart. Luke’s actions and behavior contribute to his demise. Luke is seen in a more caring and romantic light in flashbacks to July 1999, while in the present he brags about mistreating women.

. Megan and Isabella’s strategy to entice Luke back to the cottage is revealed at the episode’s conclusion. In sum, the secrets and tensions between the characters are revealed in this episode of Cruel Summer, which leads to revenge plots and the possibility of greater discoveries in future episodes.
