Magnum P.I. will most likely be the highest-rated show canceled this season unless something unexpected happens. This season, the Hawaii-set (and filmed) drama starring Jay Hernandez has averaged about 7.4 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49.
When TVLine met with series star Jay Hernandez in April, he was upbeat about the island drama’s renewal prospects, stating, “We’re golden.” I think you could bank on that. He also added “The numbers are great, it travels well internationally…. So yeah, I think we’re in good shape,” he added. “And you know what, they’re happy with the show. They loved this season and a lot of the stories they were really digging. And the episode I directed, they loved to the extent that I’ve already been asked to direct another one next season.”

we know that shows end eventually. what hurts is that we thought we would get renewed. we could have at least have a warning or a goodbye. magnum deserves a proper good bye just like macgyver needed one. we want at least a final season #MagnumPI #SaveMagnumPI
