BOSCH: LEGACY [WELCOME TO THE OTHER SIDE] RECAP: SEASON 3 EPISODE 7 – EXPLAINED

In Episode 7 of Season 3 of Bosch: Legacy things take a big turn as the murder of Detective Jimmy Robertson is looked into more closely, secrets start to come out and characters face very personal problems. The situation is getting more dangerous as Diego Perra’s arrest is being looked into and links to a larger drug plot are being found. This episode picks up where Episode 6 left off, when Perra was arrested for the murder of Jimmy Robertson, a charge that quickly became less likely to be true. Even after hearing the official story, Bosch (Titus Welliver) was still not sure. Surveillance footage made it seem unlikely that Perra was involved, and a more in-depth investigation showed that Robertson may have been the target.

BOSCH: LEGACY SEASON 3 EPISODE 7 RECAP

In Episode 7, the courtroom is the first stage of action. Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) steps in for the plaintiff’s motion in the case against Diego Perra. However, it becomes clear that Perra is only being charged with robbery, not murder—news that enrages the attending LAPD officers. Chandler expresses her frustration in a phone call to Chief Hughes, admitting her dissatisfaction with the DA’s reluctance to press murder charges without solid proof.

Meanwhile, Officer Reyna Vasquez (Denise Sanchez) begins digging into the Melrose Bandits—an organized robbery group suspected in multiple follow-home crimes. At the precinct, she discovers call records linking her nephew, Albert, to individuals under investigation, including Nestor Gomez. Startled and protective, she tears out the page containing Albert’s name and leaves without informing her partner Maddie (Madison Lintz).

MADDIE’S INSTINCTS: KEEPING AN EYE ON NESTOR

Maddie, concerned by Vasquez’s absence, decides to keep tailing Nestor. Meanwhile, Bosch visits Robertson’s grieving girlfriend, who allows him to go through the late detective’s belongings. While sorting through his things, Bosch finds a card referencing a meeting that could be significant.

Vasquez uses her day off to confront Albert directly. She questions his connection to Nestor and Victoria, another person of interest. Albert denies everything, but Vasquez gives him a chance to come clean, warning him about the consequences of staying involved.

In another corner of L.A., Mo (Stephen Chang) takes a calculated step by reaching out to Janice Morrell, a contact with access to the federal files that could provide insight into McShane’s protected records. He reminds Janice of a past favor, compelling her to consider helping him.

BOSCH: LEGACY [GOES WHEE IT GOES] RECAP: SEASON 3 EPISODE 1 EXPLAINED

BOSCH AND LOPEZ TEAM UP

Bosch starts piecing together the mysterious card he found and reaches out to a DEA contact, suspecting a drug link to Robertson’s murder. He isn’t alone in his quest. Perry Lopez joins forces with Bosch to dig deeper. Their combined efforts begin to unravel the true nature of Robertson’s last case—one connected to fentanyl and a victim previously linked to a gang.

At Honey Chandler’s request, Corvus Pike and Raquel Bowers re-interview Perra’s girlfriend. Their follow-up uncovers inconsistencies in her statements, potentially damaging to the defense. Honey begins to worry that the fragile case could be torn apart.

Mo’s meeting with Janice at a public restaurant ends with a promise. Although reluctant, Janice agrees to retrieve the files Mo needs. Elsewhere, Maddie follows Nestor and witnesses a conversation between him and Albert—confirming her suspicions. Conflicted, Maddie turns to her father, Bosch, and expresses concern over Vasquez’s potential cover-up of her nephew’s crimes. Bosch advises her to give Vasquez the opportunity to do the right thing.

ALBERT AND VICTORIA: SECRETS UNCOVERED

Albert and Victoria grow closer, but Albert is feeling the heat. He wants to flee the city before he gets caught, though Victoria isn’t ready to abandon her life. During a quiet moment, she spots a family photo and realizes Albert is related to Vasquez, bringing another layer of tension into the already twisted situation.

Back at Mo’s place, Janice drops off the highly protected federal files. The content is potentially game-changing. Meanwhile, Maddie confronts Vasquez directly. She’s blunt, asking Vasquez to address Albert’s involvement. Vasquez, no longer dodging the issue, agrees they need to talk.

BOSCH UNCOVERS A DARKER TRUTH

As Bosch learns more from his DEA contact, the picture becomes clearer. Robertson had been investigating a drug operation involving “black ice” and fentanyl. Bosch and Lopez suspect that Robertson was lured into a trap and assassinated. Honey, still juggling political and legal pressures, receives a call from Pike revealing a breakthrough—the DNA found on the bullets doesn’t match Diego Perra, but rather a previous murder victim linked to Robertson’s drug case.

The realization hits hard: this wasn’t a robbery gone wrong, but a calculated execution, potentially by professional sicarios—possibly tied to a Mexican cartel. The evidence suggests Robertson was marked for death by someone with powerful connections, opening the door to a larger conspiracy.

Bosch: Legacy continues to escalate its central mystery in Episode 7. With the Melrose Bandits investigation colliding with a broader drug case, and Honey Chandler caught between duty and politics, the layers of deception grow more complex. Maddie faces a crisis of trust with her partner, Vasquez, while Mo’s relentless hacking might finally yield the truth hidden behind federal walls.
