Yellowjackets Episode 6 Recap

Yellowjackets Season 1 Episode 6 opens with a closer look at Lottie. She starts wailing as a toddler while waiting at a red light to avert a car accident. Her father, on the other hand, dismisses this omen and believes that she has to see a therapist. Lottie continues to have strange visions in the forest. This time, the antlers of a deer were bloodied. Now, this is a foreshadowed foreboding omen of what happens at the end of the episode, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves!

Tai wants to leave the group during one of their late-night meetings, but Van persuades her not to. Shauna wakes up after another nightmare when she returns to the cabin. It’s here that we learn that Shauna’s child is actually Jeff’s…who is currently dating Jackie. Oof. Shauna is concerned that Jackie will find out and is considering extraordinary steps to conceal this. The guilt, on the other hand, is oppressive. When Jackie tells Shauna about Jeff, however, things reach a fever pitch. She reveals that he told her he loved her the day before they went, after gushing about how great a boyfriend he is. When it comes to love, Nat and Travis end up kissing passionately inside the plane wreckage. Most of the girls ooh and aah about their newfound relationships as they return to the lodge. Jackie, on the other hand, is dissatisfied. She chastises them for not putting in enough effort on the hunting front, inflaming tensions in camp.

In any case, Lottie’s previous vision of the deer shows her looking up to see Laura. Now, since she’s the island’s spiritual rock, it’s only natural that Lottie would seek her counsel on what this implies. “If you accept Him into your heart, He will guide you in determining what is true and what is untrue.” Lottie brings her down to the lake and performs a makeshift baptism by gently lowering her into the water. She sees the same image of the deer again as a result of this. Laura flashes back to the present as she burns a couple of candles, believing she has seen the Holy Spirit.

Meanwhile, Travis poses the one question that every man seems to ask, and it always results in tears. He inquires as to how many men she has dated. Nat is enraged and begins to lash out until she discovers that Travis is truly a virgin. Nat, on the other hand, isn’t. Travis is persuaded that it doesn’t matter, but outside rustling distracts them both. It’s a creature, and the ideal hunting chance has presented itself. It’s a deer, and when they bring it into camp, Lottie discovers that it has bloodied antlers, confirming that it’s the same deer from her dreams. Maggots crawl all over the deer when they cut it open. It’s the last straw for Tai, who takes the initiative and chooses to seek assistance.

Shauna is where we pick up our time in the present. Tassia guides the subject to Travis and the strange symbol when she arrives at Natalie’s apartment. Shauna, on the other hand, never received one of the envelopes. Nat now suspects it could be Jessica, but instead of bringing her over, Shauna devises a strategy. She wants to include a tracker in the bag of $50,000 for whoever is blackmailing her, so they can figure out who it is and where they’re going. If Shauna’s problems on the island were tainted by guilt, so is her current situation. We’re approaching Jackie’s death anniversary, and everything serves as a reminder of her betrayal. All of this culminates in Jeff confessing to Jackie that he and Shauna were having an affair behind her back.

Meanwhile, Tai brings Sammy to a therapist, who verifies that he has a mental health problem. It could be excessive stress, but Tai dismisses the possibility. While Kevin and Nat are getting closer and hooking up at the motel, Misty is still acting fishy. While surrounded by drugs (and her laptop screen showing the video feed from Nat’s hotel room), she calls the reporter, Jessica, and arranges a meeting for later that night. Misty taunts the reporter as they converse. Do you recall those pills? Misty has manufactured a particularly awful knock-out juice, which she injects into Jessica with a syringe later that evening. She brings Jessica to her apartment, ties her up in a basement bedroom, and bids her good night.

As the episode comes to a close, we finally learn who the woman in the tree that Sammy has been seeing is. It’s Tai here. She wakes up with a bloodied hand, the same weird sigil as before, and a bewildered, scared reaction to what’s happening. She’s up in the tree as well! Nat calls and tells her to meet at 2 a.m., as the anonymous blackmailer arranges a meeting.
