That’s a scary thought. If FBI agents Val Turner (Ryan Michelle Bathé) and Anthony Flowers (Jordan Johnson-Hinds) fail to apprehend President Trump, they will face substantial prison time. Their only option is to question a source of information supplied to them by armaments dealer Elena Federova (dubbed “The Skeptic”) (Morena Baccarin). There’s only one issue: the Skeptic’s flat is on fire.  watch the promo below.

The Endgame Season 1 Episode 8 Recap

Elena and her gorgeous daughter Sofiya are shown in a flashback. Elena is reading her a story about a king who wants to turn straw into gold and kidnaps a young girl. Her husband Sergey is torturing another Belok agent below as she is regaling her daughter. The man is chained to a post and claims he will not reveal Lady Belok’s location. Sergey responds that all he cares about is the gold. Val is pondering the story and how the gold might be connected to current events in the present. Then things start to get out of hand. Swanstrom is seen in a water tank, with gold paint pouring in, poised to drown her. He does a good job of persuading the FBI of the importance of recovering his chief of staff, and that failure will not be allowed. While all of this is going on, the false gold bar that was deposited in the Federal Reserve a few episodes ago is nearing the end of its countdown.

FBI is completely oblivious of the new problem that has arrived at their doorstep. Sergey is currently speaking with his lawyer. It’s evident that the man is aware of Sergey’s plans and understands how important Owen is to their succeeding. Sergey claims it’s a two-man operation, but the attorney clarifies that it might now be a one-man operation. He believes it would take a miracle for Owen to get out of solitary in time. In any case, Sergey is determined to see his wife and children again. While the FBI tries to figure out why Swanstrom was kidnapped by Snow White, who was presumably in the Peace Corps at the time of the church explosion, Doak is doing everything he can to save the woman. Which would make me feel all nice and fuzzy if he didn’t make it apparent that he simply wants to save her so he can keep his job as interim Director. He’s sweating from guilt, and unfortunately for him, Val begins to piece together the puzzle. But it doesn’t stop Doak from interfering with her research, which is now centered on the Serial Skeptic and a van that has gone stolen. Sergey’s victim escapes just as young Sofiya discovers him in the past. She inquires as to if he is a prisoner who can turn straw into gold.

The Belok agent takes advantage of her naivete and gets her in close to seize her. he falls to the ground dead, just as she cries. Sergey and her take the traumatized child upstairs after Mama Elena shoots him from the stairwell. Federova is dedicated to improving the world for their daughter. Réal screams out to Doak and Val as they rush to the mine. He tells Val that he’s sent an HRT squad to spy on Sofiya. Doak overhears them and declares that if it were up to him, he would immediately dispatch a helicopter to capture the girl. Doak only responds with “yet” when Val counters, “good thing you’re not in charge.” Swanstrom is saved from drowning by the two of them arriving just in time. Although it’s still unclear why Snow White is chasing her, Val and Flowers begin to uncover some strange truths about the chief of staff’s past.   Owen is mysteriously rescued from solitary confinement in Peekskill. Sergey consults with his lawyer, only to discover that he had no role in Owen’s release. This means Owen is now working against Snow White’s goals.
