A mysterious pendant used by malevolent cult leader Ally Allston to preside over her group The Inverse Method is among the items Anderson took. Things are about to get tougher for Clark Kent and Lois Lane now that Anderson and Ally are working together. John Henry Irons is still recovering after his fight with Bizarro, but his cognitive abilities are deteriorating as his brain heals from the trauma. Natalie is openly resentful of Clark for allowing this to happen to Henry and for imitating the wicked Superman from her reality. Meanwhile, Anderson is able to communicate with his counterpart on Bizarro’s planet, revealing that he killed Bizarro personally, prompting the inverted world and the Arrowverse’s Ally Allston to decide that the two shall meet across dimensions.
Chrissy Beppo is unable to resist being present for such an exclusive story reveal, so Ally summons her to attend their encounter. Sam assures his son-in-law that he’s been properly exonerated of all the allegations that Anderson leveled against him in order to justify holding the superhero. While Anderson joins Ally and the Inverse Method in the Shuster Mines to open a doorway to the inverted realm through the pendants, the two learn that Anderson has taken the pendant. Despite donning protection garments, Ally and her followers are taken aback by the fact that those who enter the portal appear to disintegrate minutes before making the interdimensional journey. When Superman arrives on the scene, he is able to prevent Ally and Chrissy from crossing the portal… but Anderson seizes the pendant and travels alone. Jonathan begins working at the neighborhood convenience shop, only to be threatened by a dealer looking for money for the X-Kryptonite inhalers, as seen in Superman & Lois. Jordan arrives just in time to save Jonathan and Candice, but he misses out on a date with Sarah that was supposed to introduce him to her friend and summer love interest Aubrey.
Meanwhile, as their mayoral campaign heats up, Kyle Cortez assists Lana Lang in preparing for a public debate against George Dean, implying that they might be able to mend their strained relationship. After Natalie accepts the arrangement, Clark places Henry and Natalie in a new home away from the Kent farm to ease tensions. Despite the fact that the new accommodations are dilapidated, the property has its own repair business, allowing the father and daughter to complete their work. While Sam and Lois are lamenting how they could have let Lucy fall prey to someone as wicked and deceptive as Ally, Lucy pays them a visit to the farm. Lucy states she knew the inter-dimensional portal was potentially harmful and fled the Inverse Method at the last possible moment. The family appears to be reconciled, with Sam personally accompanying his daughter home. only for Lucy to drug his tea and render him unconscious as he drops her off. Lucy grabs Sam’s Department of Defense codes when he passes out, presumably to rescue Ally from detention and ensure she can make the journey into the inverted reality. And, as a result of this astounding treachery, the Inverse Method remains one step ahead of Superman and just as deadly as ever.
