Promised Land Episode 4 Recap

Joe (John Ortiz) asks his long-missing brother Billy (Yul Vazquez) how long it’s been since he returned. Junior (Miguel Angel Garcia) inquires about their relationship, but they remain silent. Delgado is ordered to follow Matthew by Veronica. Junior informs the others about what transpired at the church, Carmen informs Margaret about Billie’s homecoming, and Lettie informs Mateo, who is pressed for time to create a nice wine. Margaret is invited to Carmen’s party. On their journey to find Rosa, Joe, Billy, and Lettie are stopped. They pay the cop, but they don’t have enough money to pay Rosa. Mateo visits Billy, who advises them to take things slowly. When Veronica learns that Carmen has asked Margaret to the party, she is furious. Joe and Mateo had a conversation regarding Billy. Lettie remains with the men keeping her sister hostage, while Billy and Joe must locate the funds and devise a strategy. Lettie takes the boys’ gun and uses it to free herself and Rosa. Billy and Joe return, run over a man, and everyone escapes. Delgado discovers video evidence of Michael possibly cheating. When Margaret and Joe dance during the party, Lettie becomes envious. Margaret’s pricey gift is overshadowed by Lettie’s heartfelt gift to Carmen. Mateo discovers that thanks to his father, Joe may not be as evil as he believes. Joe accepts Lettie’s apology for lying to him about Billy. As Lettie and Joe prepare for bed, Lettie breaks the stillness by informing Joe that his plan to make her jealous by dancing with Magaret was successful. Joe finally speaks up, launching into a diatribe about how, even while he was married to Magaret, he has always placed Lettie first, bringing Lettie to tears. When Billy, aka Father Ramos, hears someone come from the other side, he sits in the confessional. He hears a woman say, “Father, forgive me for I have sinned,” as the partition swings open. I bought a priest’s move to Sonoma by bribing a church official.” Margaret smiles back at him as he stares through the screen.
