[Netflix] Ludik Season 1 Release Date, Cast, Trailer, Episode Guide

In August, Netflix will begin streaming the upcoming South African criminal drama series Ludik which is directed by Ian Gabriel and Harold Holscher. Without giving too much away, the tale heavily involves diamond smuggling. Arnold Vosloo, a well-known South African actor from Hollywood, is the lead in the first Netflix Afrikaans movie to be released on the streaming service. Dan Ludik, played by Vosloo, is the main character of an exciting television series that follows him beyond his respectable profession and family life and into the underworld and danger of his personal life. Numerous plot twists and turns, some violent set pieces, and humor are all promised for the novel. The show is the first Afrikaans-language Netflix offering. According to the series’ official Synopsis for Ludik 2022

Daan Ludik coming from nothing has built his own kingdom. This successful furniture salesman is the face of his business. He is heard on the radio, seen on television and on billboards. A family man in the affluent Pretoria East, but with a secret that is connected to the underworld. With his family life in turmoil, Daan’s resourcefulness and priorities are constantly challenged as he risks exposure, losing his family, jail time and death. As he struggles to keep his personal relationships and business intact, he has to rely on both old and new allies to prevail.

The series was written by Paul Buys and Annemarie van Basten and is directed by Ian Gabriel and Harold Holscher with executive producers Anele Mdoda, Paul Buys, and Frankie Du Toit. Six episodes are reportedly in the series.

Ludik is scheduled to debut on Netflix on August 26, 2022.
