Tuffy is the title of the upcoming episode. Lawyer John Dean (Dan Stevens) takes center stage, ignorant of the secret anguish his wife Maureen (Betty Gilpin) is going through. On the other hand, provocateur Martha Mitchell (Julia Roberts) returns to Arkansas for a watching party and is not greeted warmly. A good subplot involving security guard Frank Wills (Patrick Walker), whose life was turned upside down after becoming famous for busting the hapless burlers, reflects the series’ unique worldview.  He was fired following the raid and is currently experiencing some difficulties. Journalists are desperate for information. Martha is opposed to Peter and his merry band. John is enraged that Martha keeps stirring the pot. Nixon enlists the help of John Dean to tackle this tiny problem, which has suddenly grown into a major one. John Dean, who has only lately reconciled with Mo, is under the same strain as John, who is being investigated for his role in the Watergate break-in. Martha Mitchell is starting to feel the consequences of her conduct. John’s secretary shakes his hand and says she will help him with whatever. John discovers that James has turned informant. When Winnie notes that she can’t find Martha’s father’s death certificate during lunch with Martha, he discovers that Jay, Martha, and John’s son were not fighting in the war. Nixon gives John Dean Camp David for his honeymoon with Mo. Nixon asked John Dean to write an investigation letter claiming that the White House had nothing to do with the Watergate scandal.

The FBI director, Pat, is presiding over a meeting of the Watergate team. He admits to passing information to persons under investigation by the FBI inside the White House. Bob is attempting to accuse John of being involved in the Watergate scandal. John remembers all of the different ideas that Bob and the others have devised together. Agents Paul and Angelo talk to Jeb Magruder about a deal. They tell Jeb that the sweetheart deal goes to whoever talks first. Jeb is completely deafeningly quiet. At Camp David, Mo hears Nixon announce that John Dean would write the investigation report into the White House’s role in the Watergate break-in.

Agents Paul and Angelo are snooping into Jeb’s house and talking about racial inequality inside the FBI. John Dean tells Mo what he knows about the Watergate scandal. John Dean is told by Mo that he must disclose the truth. Jay and Sharon, Jay’s girlfriend, are introduced to Winnie. Gordon’s wife, Frances, visits him in prison with their children. Gordon teaches his three sons the importance of being strong. John Dean pays a visit to John to discuss the findings of the investigation. We see John Dean telling John that he’ll look into his choices. John Dean is going to speak up and tell it how it is. Martha informs John that she would be testifying against Nixon for the committee!
