FBI Season 7 Episode 2 Recap

In FBI Season 7 Episode 2, Jack and Cheryl Flemming, a couple who seem like they would be normal, are tortured and killed in their home in the suburbs of Westchester County, New York. At the start of the show, a man who says he is the homeowner finds their bodies and is confused because the victims were the real owners of the house.

The Flemmings had just come back from a trip to Europe to find Mike Holland living in their house without permission. Holland—a former trial lawyer who had a history of mental illness, thought he had a legal right to the property and used what he knew about the law to support his actions. After the couple tried to kick Holland out of the house, he was determined to get it back, which had terrible results.

The FBI starts to figure out what’s going on, with Special Agent Scola and his new partner, Sofia Otero, in charge. They catch Holland, who says he is innocent and that he would have gotten back the house without using violence. As they look deeper, they find fingerprints that belong to Paul Gordon, a violent prisoner who had gotten away. The investigation shows that Gordon and his cellmate John Pereira, who used to own the Flemmings’ house, broke out.

Gordon and Pereira had a bad relationship that comes to light when they kill the Flemmings to get back at them. When the FBI finds out that Gordon has taken Pereira’s daughter — Naomi and is demanding a ransom, the situation gets worse. The agency is in a lot of trouble internally as they try to save her, and Scola and Otero are figuring out how to work together in the midst of all the chaos.

At the end of the episode, there is a violent fight between the FBI and Gordon. Gordon is killed and Naomi is saved, but her mother dies. The case’s emotional weight stays with Scola — how to fix the problems within the team.
