Amazon’s Dead Ringers, starring Rachel Weisz, Gets a Premiere Date

According to an announcement made on Tuesday morning, Prime Video’s “contemporary take” on David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers will have you experiencing double vision in the month of April.  the company has also revealed the first photographs of actor and executive producer Rachel Weisz in her role as OB-GYN twins Beverly and Elliot Mantle in the psychological thriller.

Based on the 1988 film of the same name starring Jeremy Irons, this new adaptation stars Weisz as identical twins,  “who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes — including pushing the boundaries of medical ethics –in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s health care to the forefront.”

In addition to announcing that all six episodes will be available on the streaming service on Friday, April 21.

In addition, Britne Oldford plays the role of Genevieve, Poppy Liu plays Greta, Michael Chernus plays the role of Tom, Jennifer Ehle plays Rebecca, and Emily Meade plays Susan. EP The first two episodes were directed by Sean Durkin, who also co-directed the finale; the other three episodes were directed by Karyn Kusama (Jennifer’s Body), Karena Evans (P-Valley), and Lauren Wolkstein (Y: The Last Man).
