Owen has a disciplinary hearing after punching Billy, and he argues that the firehouse should not be closed. They have suspended Owen, as well as shutting down the 126 and planning to demolish it. Owen breaks the news to everyone and delivers a hero speech about never giving up. However, they fast forward six months after the events, to January, when Texas is experiencing a deep cold, unlike anything they’ve ever seen. A pair is searching for the turtles they’re rescuing in the midst of a snowstorm. Joe, the man, wanders onto shaky ice in search of a turtle and discovers a still-alive youngster beneath the ice. Tommy works at Paragon, which is owned by a businessman who wants them to upsell controlled substances and charge high fees for appointments.

Nancy asked Carlos to a 126 hang and she hasn’t selected his side, which irritates T.K. Judd is disappointed that he has fallen behind on making the nursery ready, and he is also disappointed that the old house will be demolished. Marjan’s calls go unanswered. To stop the demolition, Marjan ties herself to the house. Carlos arrives to apprehend her, but the demonstration is interrupted due to unexpected snowfall. The building Carlos brings the veterans to for safety sees a tree fall through the roof, trapping them within. The owner of a furniture warehouse offers his space to the veterans as a place to stay.
