Actor Yul Vazquez, known for his work in Severance, is stepping into a key role as Sheriff Caleb, a character who is set to bring serious tension to the final stretch of Season 3. Sheriff Caleb will be introduced in the penultimate episode of Will Trent Season 3, which airs Tuesday, May 6. The episode has an extra special touch as it’s directed by Erika Christensen, who also plays Angie Polaski in the series.
According to the official character description, Caleb is a rugged and fiercely independent hometown hero. He’s known in his community as a “constitutional sheriff” — a term that suggests he puts local authority above outside agencies. With a strong will and a sharp edge, Caleb does things his own way and doesn’t like being told what to do.

Caleb doesn’t trust outside help, which causes problems, but as the investigation goes on and unexpected turns happen, he has to rethink his position. At this point, the characters’ relationships are set up to be complicated and dramatic.
This role is not just a one-time appearance. Yul Vazquez’s Sheriff Caleb is expected to recur and may even play a bigger role in Season 4. That means viewers could be seeing more of his confrontational, no-nonsense approach — and possibly even alliances or rivalries that shift the show’s tone moving forward.
