What happened to Gwendolyn Taylor?

Gwendolyn Taylor, a young woman with goals and a good job as a nurse’s aide, died in a terrible accident on December 7, 1985. She went to a party with her boyfriend, Charles Ferguson, after working an extra-long shift. The night turned dark, though, when she was picked up near her home and taken by a man who demanded money. Taylor’s step-sister Charita Offley saw the horrifying scene of Taylor being held at knifepoint and begging for $100.

Even though everyone was rushing to get the money, Taylor’s attacker led her away. Early the next morning, her dead body was found at an auto shop, showing signs of a cruel murder. Witness reports were very important to the investigation that followed, and Thomas Rosa Jr. became the main suspect. The loss of important physical evidence made the case even more difficult, leaving it to eyewitness accounts and DNA blood-typing evidence to close.
