Nathan makes an attempt to mount Newton, but he has difficulty. He puts the saddle on and takes Newton on a walk with a little patience, only to find a traffic jam in the square, which annoys Newton. The excitement and noise bothers everyone, so Henry parks his car on the side of the road and walks to work. Elizabeth expresses her worries to Rosemary regarding Lucas’s engagement with Walden. She attempts to talk to Lucas about it, but he is deafeningly silent. Ned is concerned because a case of cling peaches has gone stolen. Molly stops by, and Florence is inspired by something she says.
