The Voice [2023] Live Finale – Part 1 Recap

As we approach the highly anticipated season finale of The Voice, the Top 5 contestants are set to showcase their vocal prowess with a heart-wrenching ballad and an electrifying up-tempo number. The coaches and America will have the final say in determining who will reign supreme in this ultimate singing showdown. The five finalists are D.Smooth (Team Kelly), Gina Miles (Team Niall), Sorelle (Team Chance),  Grace West (Team Blake),  and Noivas (Team Blake).

In an exciting twist, the musical competition welcomes a special guest performance from none other than Tony-nominated Alex Newell, known for his role in the hit show Glee. Newell takes the stage to perform his electrifying number “Independently Owned” from the uproarious musical comedy Shucked. This marks a historic moment as it is the first time a Broadway show has been featured in the competition. Here (tvacute.com) is the conclusion of The Voice 23 Episode 17, in case you were curious.

The Voice 23 Episode 17 Recap

The two-part series finale begins tonight with the most crucial night. Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper are all set to go as coaches. The performances begin with Grace, a 19-year-old participant, singing “The Lights Went Out In Georgia” by Reba McEntire. Blake thinks she has a chance to be his team’s victorious contender. Blake admires her flow and deems it incredible while Kelly compliments her performance, stating it was wonderful to hear her sing that song with her full voice.

D. Smooth surprises everyone by performing “My, My, My” by Johnny Gill in a 90s R&B style. Chance calls it chaotic and insane and says it was one of the best performances of the year. Kelly is aware of D. Smooth’s star potential from the inside out. Three sisters perform as Sorelle, a group that covers “Million Reasons” by Lady Gaga. Chance exudes much pride and enjoys hearing each of their individual voices, while Niall thinks their performance to be elegant and understated.

The next performer, NOIVAS, reads a letter from his wife and kids, who support him, before taking the stage. He acknowledges that without them, he wouldn’t be appearing on the show. Chris Stapleton’s song “Cold” is sung by NOIVAS. Blake believes that people identify him as a country musician because of his personality and the feelings he arouses, and he compliments NOIVAS for his performance. Kelly loves his song selection and deems it a wise choice.

By singing “Style” by Taylor Swift, Gina, joined by Niall, muses on her path and aspires to reveal a different side of herself. Chance praises her performance and highlights her individuality as an artist. Niall expresses delight in her accomplishments and believes it to be the best pop song ever written for her. Grace is moved to tears as she receives a touching message from her grandfather. The Patsy Cline song “I’ve Got Your Picture” is sung by her. Grace gave two of her best performances of the season in the season finale, and Niall lauds her vocal range. Her performance was fantastic, according to Blake. NOIVAS chooses to sing “Fly Away” by Lenny Kravitz after talking with Blake about his experience on The Voice. Blake praises NOIVAS’ performance and remarks that the finale has just begun while Chance expresses his pleasure about one of his favorite songs.

The episode also features performances from Tony Award contender Alex Newell, who sings a song from the Broadway production of “Shucked,” and Lewis Capaldi, who sings “Wish You The Best.” D. Smooth gets a wonderful letter from his sister encouraging him. She suddenly emerges on stage next to him, shocking him. Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do for Love” is sung by him. Kelly calls him calm and gives him credit for a seamless performance.

Sorelle discusses their adventure with their coach, Chance, who thinks they have a bright future in front of them. Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” is performed by them. Blake thinks it is incredible that all three of them can sing so well together and that their harmonies sound like a record. Chance admires their clear singing and flawless presentation.  When Gina Miles reads a letter from her father, she finds it difficult to read because her emotions get the better of her. She sings Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” in honor of her father. Niall exclaims how pleased he is with her and how happy he is that she picked that song since it meant a lot to him.
