As the promo ends, we catch a glimpse of a crash cart being brought in, which makes us think of a quick and serious medical emergency.
As we look ahead to Episode 5, our attention turns to Asher. His ideas about what marriage means make his future with Jerome more difficult. Asher’s trouble with the traditional idea of marriage makes us think about love, commitment, and our own views. Asher’s journey also takes a surprising turn when he thinks about his religious past to help a patient become Jewish so that his fiancée can marry him. This plot looks like it will explore themes of faith, identity, and how complicated relationships can be.

Lim’s boyfriend Clay Porter was talked about in the most recent episode “Date Night, ” meaning he’s still alive. Clay hasn’t been on since Season 6, and his marriage to Lim is still not over. Lim talks about Clay being in Chicago for a fellowship while his mother is in town for a drug study. Clay asked Lim to marry him, but she couldn’t say yes because she was still healing from being paralyzed, so the ring hadn’t been used. Last time, Clay agreed to move in with Lim. Since then, he hasn’t been on the show. There are only six shows left in the show’s final season, and fans can’t wait for Clay to come back.
