Is the Essex Serpent a real creature? Is Cora able to locate the Serpent?

Cora is drawn to the small Essex village by the mystery surrounding the mythological serpent that has been tormenting the town of Aldwinter. The mystery deepens as the events progress, and the town senses the presence of evil power. The deaths of Gracie and Cracknell convince the villagers that the serpent is attacking them and that Cora is drawing it. Cora leaves the village as a result of the occurrences. Cora finally learns the truth about the serpent when she returns to Aldwinter to see Stella. A big whale washes up on the beach after Stella appears to have seen the snake. When the villagers see the dead whale, they rejoice because they believe the serpent is no longer alive. As a result, it is clear that the Essex serpent was a fable.

The presence of the whale generated unusual patterns in the marine currents. The villagers have mistaken the whale for the serpent and blamed it for the town’s misfortunes, which were completely unrelated. Stella’s journey comes to an end when the truth about the serpent is revealed, and she moves on to other things. Meanwhile, Aldwinter is returned to peace, and the residents resume their regular routines. The series explores the fear of the unknown through the hysteria around the serpent story, as the villagers lack the knowledge to draw a sensible conclusion from the town’s terrible deaths. The serpent, in the end, is nothing more than a legend.
