The first five episodes of Riverdale were devoted to the aftermath of Cheryl’s spellcasting, which saw the town of Pep undergo a name change while the ensemble of characters remained remarkably unscathed until things got really strange.
“Riverdale” featured a large number of deaths as well as guest appearances, including Kiernan Shipka’s eagerly awaited debut as Sabrina Spellman on Riverdale. While the Netflix original series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been linked to the CW program.
Riverdale season 6 has been put on hold following the conclusion of the five-episode special. Here’s (tvacute.com) when the program will return to The CW in 2022, as well as when new season 6 episodes will be released on Netflix and what to expect next in the season.
Are you willing to head back to Pep’s Town for real this time? After a chaotic, bizarre, and highly dark five-episode event titled “Rivervale” took over the first half of Season 6, the show will return to Riverdale in March.

For a limited time, all five episodes of the “Rivervale” event are available to view on The CW app and cwtv.com. On Sunday, March 20 at 8 p.m. ET, the new Riverdale season 6 episode 6 will premiere. The program will be moving to a new night and hour, so mark your calendars appropriately.
What happened so far in Riverdale Season 6?
“Rivervale” is the focus of the first five episodes of Riverdale season 6. The event is considered a miniseries within the program that may stand alone, but it is required viewing in order to grasp narrative points and emotional motivations later in the season. “Rivervale” describes how Betty and Archie managed to avoid Hiram’s final heinous act, the bomb he planted beneath Archie’s bed in the season 5 finale, which went off. There’s also more on Barchie, Veggie (Veronica/Reggie), Jabitha (Jughead/Tabitha), and Tangs (Toni/Fangs) from the previous season, as well as Cheryl’s witch heritage.
Riverdale Season 6 New Trailer: Typewriter
Season 6 of Riverdale has gotten a new teaser trailer. Watch the trailer for “Typewriter” below:
In the episode’s promo, we pick up with Jughead (Cole Sprouse), who is dealing with the aftermath of the attack. That explosion really messed up my hearing.,” Jughead tells Tabitha Tate (Erinn Westbrook), though it’s unclear how much Mr. Jones is hurting.
Reggie (Charles Melton) and Veronica’s (Camila Mendes) relationship doesn’t seem to be faring as well in Riverdale as it did in Rivervale. Reggie yells angrily at Veronica, “You lied to me,” to which she responds, “I didn’t want to be judged.”
Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Archie (Madelaine Petsch) are next, with Archie saying, “I think we’re in a lot of trouble,” followed by a shot of Penelope Blossom (Nathalie Boltt) looking as wild and weird as she’s ever looked, some candles blowing out, and a doubtful Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) saying, “Do we have to perform an exorcism?”
Not only that but there’s more! Betty facing down with ex-boyfriend/boss Glen (Greyston Holt), Veronica looking horrified at something on her phone, Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) and the Southside Serpents on the ground with their hands up, Betty and Archie making out, a furious Jughead, Hermione Lodge (Marisol Nichols) returning with a camera crew in tow, and a shot of Betty’s arch-enemy the that would be Archie.
What to expect in Riverdale Season 6?
Without giving anything away about what happened in “Rivervale,” we can say that the rest of the season will revolve around another battle for the town’s soul. Chris O’Shea, who plays Percival Pickens, a descendent of General Pickens who wants to turn Riverdale into a utopia, has joined the cast. We expect him to cause all kinds of trouble in town, possibly for Cheryl and Toni, given his ancestry, though the casting announcement specifically mentioned an impending fight with Archie.

Netflix members in the United States can expect season 6 to arrive on the platform eight days after the finale airs, thanks to a deal with ViacomCBS and Warner Media.
