Power Book IV: Force Season 2 Episode 5 Recap: Crown Vic

The episode opens with Tommy confronting Darnell ‘D-Mac’ McDowell (Lucien Cambric) regarding the killing of Seamus. Tommy is informed that Diamond (Isaac Keys) has taken care of Seamus’s body and tells him to keep quiet. When Treason runs out of product, Jenard Sampson (Kris D. Lofton) has to deal with it and is forced to send them to Yo-Yo. But Jenard’s own issues with addiction and his reputation get in the way of his business operations. As shooters target Diamond and other diners, a startling incident at the diner intensifies the chaos. Violence has repercussions that even reach the hospital, where Mireya, absorbed in Tommy’s texts, observes the aftermath of the shooting.

Tommy contacts Diamond out of concern for the heightened police presence, and Diamond explains that the RDs—former Jenard associates—are involved. A complicated web of alliances and power relations results from Diamond’s consideration of establishing a coalition in response to this news. As D-Mac worries about Genesis, his turbulent voyage continues, and Kate offers him money to buy cigarettes. Concurrently, Jenard makes the audacious decision to steal drugs from Manny Fresh’s area, which creates more issues.

Vic, a major player in the power battle, arranges to have dinner with Walter Flynn (Tommy Flanagan), but he gets stopped by the FEDs en there. As Bobby and his group provide Vic Flynn (Shane Harper) with eyewitnesses to Collin’s murder, the tension grows. But Stacy’s calculated action and Vic’s choice to hang himself give the drama more depth as it develops. The complex relationships come to the fore as Doyle and Claud develop a close bond. Doyle’s menacing prognosis on Claudia’s position within the company portends possible changes in authority.

while King Kilo resists Diamond’s efforts to establish a coalition while the plan to kill Walter moves forward, it results in a dramatic phone call that sets the stage for internal strife. Tommy must pay attention to what is happening, especially with regard to D-Mac. This leads to decisions and confrontations that will determine how the story develops.  When Paulie is killed in a shooting that breaks out as a result of the planned ambush at Walter’s house, the tension reaches a fever pitch. As the blame game starts, Walter accuses Claudia ‘Claud’ Flynn (Lili Simmons), and Vic accuses Walter. In the aftermath, Jenard’s desperate attempt to obtain drugs is shown, which results in a terrifying drug abuse episode.

Miguel assaults Kendall, setting off a series of events that result in her disappearance from Vic, who is waiting for Claudia to provide an alibi. After being picked up by Smurf, D-Mac finds himself in a dangerous predicament, and Tommy finds it difficult to keep the truth from Kate. When Claudia shoots Doyle, her treachery takes a lethal turn, casting doubt on allegiances and coalitions. The exchanges between Sid and Diamond in the hospital provide a unique window into the difficulties of familial bonds.

After hearing about D-Mac’s disappearance, Kate becomes even more distressed as Tommy and Diamond decide to proceed with a coalition. While grieving for Sid, Jenard gets an unexpected apology from his father. Vic’s choice to enter CBI in order to gain immunity, D-Mac’s uncertain future, and the prospect of a new chapter in the Power narrative all feature in the episode’s conclusion.
