Olivia Cooke and Jamie Bell Set to Star in New Italian Romance ‘Takes One To Know One’

Olivia Cooke, who was in “Sound of Metal,” and Jamie Bell, who won a BAFTA for her part in “All of Us Strangers,” will be cast as leads in “Takes One to Know One,” which is directed by Nathalie Biancheri.

The movie is called a “unconventional and contemporary take on romance,” and it was written by Brooke Baker, who is known for writingPam & Tommy” and “Sideswiped.” The script is on the prestigious 2022 Black List. In Italy, production is set to start later this year.

In “Takes One To Know One,” Cooke and Bell will play Eleanor and Lucas, two people who meet in Rome and quickly become close because they both love art and Italy. But the fact that they are both already in serious relationships makes their new friendship harder to handle.

Potboiler, BCDF Pictures, and Chippy Tea Productions all worked together to make the movie. Gail Egan, Claude Dal Farra, Brian Keady, and Cooke are the directors. Some of Potboiler Productions’ well-known past works include “The Last King of Scotland” and “The Constant Gardener,” both of which got good reviews.

The film’s synopsis reads: When Eleanor and Lucas meet in Rome, the chemistry is electric. With a shared passion for art, Italy, and each other, it looks like the start of something life-changing. The biggest stumbling block: They are both in relationships with other people.

Cooke talked about how excited she was about the project and how much she liked Brooke’s story and the chance to work with Biancheri and Bell. There are international rights to the movie owned by Cornerstone and CAA Media Finance. They will work together to promote the US and start sales at the Cannes Market.

Stephen Biancheri’s script and approach to the romance genre were praised by Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder of Cornerstone. They also said that Cooke and Bell are perfect for the parts.
