The movie Secrets We Keep was filmed entirely in Copenhagen, Denmark, mostly along the North Coast, from March 2024 to June 2024. This area was chosen by director Per Fly because it has a beautiful mix of charm and class. He said that the North Coast was the perfect place to write a story about class, secrets, and crumbling facades because it was both beautiful to look at and perfect for the story.

GOTFRED TVEDES MANSION
Two lavish mansions served as major backdrops for the series. Gotfred Tvedes Mansion, part of the Ordrupgaard Museum, stood in as Cecilie’s home. Located at Vilvordevej 110, this early 20th-century classicist building was designed by architect Gotfred Tvede. Preserved in its original state, including period furnishings, the mansion’s grandeur contrasts sharply with the emotional unease unfolding inside.
HVIDØRE HOUSE
Just a few miles away, Hvidøre House (Emiliekildevej 1, Klampenborg) offered its own historical presence. With sweeping views of Bellevue Beach, it was once home to Maria Feodorovna of Russia, the daughter of King Christian IX. The elegant blend of Italian and Victorian architecture now functions as a venue for corporate events, but during filming, its ornate halls and balconies added a regal edge to the scenes.
CENTRAL COPENHAGEN’S HIDDEN GEMS
A house on Amaliegade Street in the middle of the city was the setting for several important interior scenes. The interiors were changed to fit the style of the show, and lighting tricks were even used to make it look like natural daylight. Amaliegade is known for its line of historic mansions, such as The Yellow Palace and Collin’s House. This made it a good place to show the world of the show, which is full of shadowy wealth.
BELLEVUE BEACH
Outdoor scenes weren’t neglected either. The Temple Sea Bath, nestled on Bellevue Beach at Taarbæk Strandvej 14a, gave filmmakers access to the sea’s serene presence. This members-only beach club, just steps from Hvidøre House, offers activities like yoga and sauna—but here, it became a scenic backdrop for tense moments and whispered conversations.
Bellevue Beach, stretching for 700 meters along the Baltic Sea, is among the area’s most visited natural attractions. Its calm waters and simple Danish coastal charm let scenes breathe while keeping the show’s realistic grounding.
The show also went to Ørsted Park, which is at Nørre Voldgade 1. This beautiful park was built in the 1870s and is named after the physicist Hans Christian Ørsted. Known for its tree-lined paths, open-air concerts, and cultural monuments, it brought a moment of natural calm into the otherwise tension-filled narrative.
