NCIS Hawaii Episode 8 Recap
Captain Joe Milius staged a ceremony on NCIS: Hawai’i Season 1 Episode 8 to commemorate the Hawaiian people and return the land to them. During the ritual, the minister traversed the area and the group discovered a body. Jane and her crew were dispatched to look into the matter. The woman was beaten to death with a bludgeon and bled to death. Kathy Laster was Jane Doe, an activist who was protesting the land nearby. They discovered she had gone to Hawaii with her boyfriend Mike Williams to oppose the land’s owner, developer Damian Davenport. It was time to pay Damian a visit after discovering how Kathy was slain. Agents Boone and Tara met with Damian and his legal team. As Milius was being moved, Tennant unexpectedly invited the Captain to dinner. Jane didn’t want to chat about work during dinner and instead wanted to learn more about Joe. Then the tequila shots started flowing again.
Jane afterward invited Joe over to her apartment for sex after the date went well! Alex wasn’t home that night, but he ran into Joe the next morning, which was embarrassing for everyone. World Works demonstrators were breaking into the Davenport compound, according to the team. Jake (Damian’s chief of security) had Mike bound and was going to question him when Boone and Tara came in with weapons drawn. Jake had a private conversation with Boone to convey his point of view. He also revealed his alibi and said he used to work for the FBI’s cybercrime branch, and he offered to assist the investigation rather than impede it. Mike was informed that Kathy had died when he arrived at the NCIS headquarters. He was completely oblivious of her death. Kai told the squad that he didn’t think Mike was the murderer. They were debating who the murderer might be when the medical examiner disclosed the paper trail that led them to Morgan Davenport. Kathy’s entire group vacation to the island was funded through a number of shell corporations. The team attempted to speak with her, but lawyers intervened to prevent a confrontation. Following that, they noticed a photographer sneaking photographs of Morgan and looking at his work. She was spotted in the pics leaving a divorce attorney’s office and confronting Kathy. Morgan wanted to talk but the lawyer stopped the questioning and they left. Morgan did leave a coded clue with Jane.
They needed to speak with Damian without his lawyers. Tennant confronted Damian before his morning surf and suspected Kathy Laster was his daughter! Damian had slept with an employee in his company and paid the woman for silence. He didn’t want the rumor to surface in the investigation and shoed the agent away. The team found more details that Morgan organized a DNA test that proved Kathy was Damian’s daughter. They found a digital trail that Mike had seen the results and was hunting for Damian. They raced to the compound but were stopped by Jake as they couldn’t breach without a warrant. Suddenly, a huge explosion occurred! They all rushed to see the blaze and Agent Tara figured the blast was a distraction. The team searched the property and found Mike had the Davenports at gunpoint. Mike tried to get the truth out of Damian and suddenly Jake entered and shot Mike. He has whisked away in the ambulance and they arrested Jake as Kathy’s murderer. They found he arranged to speak to Kathy on the night she was murdered. Thereafter, Damian held a press conference to donate the land back to the Hawaiian people as a PR damage control move. Joe saw Jane for the last time, offering Alex a gift, kissing her before shipping out to the Pentagon. Jane spoke with Alex about Joe and he felt she should start back dating again…
