Kung Fu Season 2 Episode 4 Recap

Jin arrives at the collective with Mei-dumplings Li’s to see Frank. They reminisce about the good old days, and Jin offers Frank financial assistance with the studio. Jin comes to a realization as a result of this, and he tells Mei-Li that he’ll be quitting Harmony Dumplings to pursue his ambitions of saving the Chinatown they both love before it vanishes. He knows she’s capable of doing it on her own now, and that makes her very pleased. Mei-Li is supportive, yet she is saddened by the loss of her lover. Althea’s anger quit has gone viral, and she’s received many job offers as a result. While Ryan searches for his parents, he discovers Sebastian eating lunch with the workers. Ryan insists that it was his first choice, that it had been his goal for years, but he seemed to be doubting something. While waiting for Nicky, Althea and Ryan meet and share their news. Sebastian, for example.

Althea learns she enjoys being in charge while assisting Nicky with the case and chooses to start her own business. Ryan realizes that with Nicky by his side, he’ll be able to experience lots of adventure without ever leaving his community. He even flirts with Sebastian for a few moments. Nicky jolts Henry up with some insomnia-inducing exercise in the wee hours of the morning. She’s concerned about Mia and speculates about where she might have gone. Kerwin is being questioned by an interviewer who inquires about his whereabouts. As Russell and Juliette watch, he makes up a false automobile accident and gushes about how happy he is to work with his father again. Henry and Nicky got to work on the books, and Henry discovered that the bell had been brought to Chinatown as a gift before being buried beneath the city.

They confront Kerwin, with Nicky digging in on Kerwin’s family status. After the hit at the prison, Kerwin believes Zhilan is dead, and Nicky knows he’s faking his collaboration to exact revenge on his father for her “murder.” Juliette is skeptical, so Kerwin tries to elicit information. Nicky and Henry receive a diagram of the bell as a result of his efforts. However, the “butterfly” Kerwin references are undoubtedly Mia, since they discover images of her among Kerwin’s documents. Kerwin explains that this butterfly is sacrificed as part of Russell’s greater scheme, which worries Nicky. Henry and Nicky reassemble with Althea and Ryan to devise a plan to decapitate the bell. Juliette and Russell are talking about Mia when Kerwin walks in. Juliette tells that they have withdrawn from the company’s charity event, which means they will both be at home when Nicky and Henry break-in.

Ryan starts to work on the ringing of the bell. When the sirens go off, a freshly liberated Zhilan makes her way to the Tan property, just missing her chance to kill Russell. A knife is used inadvertently to hurt the worker. Zhilan discovers Kerwin in Russell’s office, and the two are taken aback by the fact that the other is still alive. He inquires as to why she attempted to assassinate him, and she responds that it was never about their relationship. She adored him, but she had to eliminate Russell. They fight, with Zhilan becoming increasingly enraged as she realises he isn’t going to let her see his father. She begs him to take a step back, explaining that she’s simply there for Russell and doesn’t want to upset Kerwin. While Ryan looks after the worker, Nicky and Henry continue melting down the bell. As Henry receives a text message from his estranged father, the three celebrate with cocktails. Juliette, on the other hand, is attempting to appease her enraged father. She informs him that she can make another contraption that will imitate the bell’s tones. Kerwin and Zhilan go separately, with Zhilan pursuing Mia in order to return to Russell.
