Is Paramount+ Little Wing Based on a True Story?

The coming-of-age movie “Little Wing” from Paramount+ is about Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project) plays Kaitlyn, a teen girl who is dealing with the problems that come with being a teen, such as her parents’ divorce and the possibility that they will lose their house. Kaitlyn comes up with a plan to steal a valuable race pigeon so that she can help her family with their money problems. But her plan goes in a strange direction when she becomes close with the bird’s owner, played by Brian Cox (Succession). Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone), who co-stars in the movie, plays Kaitlyn’s understanding and helpful mother, which gives the family relationships in the movie more depth. The way these people talk to each other makes me think of a touching and interesting coming-of-age story.

Is Paramount+ “Little Wing” a True Story?

“Little Wing” on Paramount+ is not based on a true story. Though it’s based on real events, the movie is not a direct adaptation of a true story. John Gatins wrote the script for “Little Wing.” The story was based on a 2006 article in The New Yorker by Susan Orlean called “Little Wing: When Homing Pigeons Leave Home.” The true story of Sedona Murphy, a 13-year-old girl from South Boston, Massachusetts, who took care of and raised racing pigeons is told in this piece.

Bill Hussey, a friend of Sedona’s mother, turned her on to the world of racing pigeons and made her interested in them. She became a member of the South Shore Pigeon Flyers club and bought a few birds. So when Sedona’s family chose to move to Southborough, she had to give up her beloved birds because it would have been hard to move them because they have strong homing instincts.

Sedona Murphy’s real-life events were the inspiration for “Little Wing,” but the story is based on her imagination to make it more exciting. Like Sedona’s journey with her racing pigeons, the movie is about friendship, personal growth, and the unexpected links that can happen when people share interests.

In conclusion, “Little Wing” is not a real story, but it is based on the amazing experiences of Sedona Murphy. It is a tribute to the strength of the human spirit and the amazing journeys of self-discovery that can happen when things don’t go as planned.
