Holly and Lloyd create a huge birdcage in the fog. After vomiting a large larva, Larry collapses. a flyer lands on him. Victor chats with an old mum acquaintance about synthetic skin. She advises him to tell a loved one about his plan to delete all cyber gadgets. Jane is enraged that Cliff sold her records. She yanks out a scarf with the Dada sign on it. Cliff’s shirt now bears the logo. Laura/Rouge is interviewing Wally Sage for a job at the Bureau of Normalcy in 1949. Rita is worried about him. She invites Laura, who has been missing from their salons. Rita leaves a note in Laura’s portfolio. Rouge approaches Larry. She sees it through the window. A space parasite, she says, so burn it. Then she sees Kay wee Kay reports her bike is gone. Melissa observes Cliff’s trembling while holding Rory. Clara appreciates Cliff’s offer to babysit Rory so the ladies can relax. Holly’s in the woods again. Larry carries the larva into the woods. He leaves it in the open duffel with a meal, water, and a scarf, noting the strange smoke filling the woods.

Vic contacts Roni in the woods while she’s prepared. He tells her he’s considering removing his tech. She says no. Cliff is overwhelmed by Rory’s attention but avoids using the credit card for his online addictions until Clara and Melissa arrive. Clara notes the fog report. Cliff assures their safety. Jane wants her bike back. Harrison is adamant that Kay is safer than risking danger above. Rouge tries to exit the mansion but becomes stuck. Then a coworker enters the cafeteria in 1949. He accuses her of shielding her friends from harm. She tosses her portfolio and Rita’s invitation falls out. Rita and Malcolm perform in the salon, but the other Dadas are unimpressed. Weary of watching the world pass by. Vic is about to be sedated when he discovers the Dada logo on the monitor. Jane brings Kay new sneakers and says the bike is gone. Kay shuts the door on Jane. The fog enters Kay’s consciousness. Cliff is in the garage, using Clara’s credit card to connect with Ginger.

An invisible force restrains him as the fog penetrates into the garage. Vic’s limbs are seized and Jane is submerged. They reappear in the same room. It’s Dada’s old salon, now abandoned. They all start to panic. Rouge is closing the mansion as Larry enters via the open door. Rouge can’t close it fast enough. Laura joins the Dadas in 1949. The Dadas inform her they’re now doing the Eternal Flagellation and start dancing. Rouge and Larry join the others in the salon. Except for Rouge, everyone is supported. Rouge’s memories come back. She brought Bureau troops in to capture the Dadas in 1949. He deemed them all weapons. In the present, she follows the Doom Patrol’s lead. When Malcolm emerges to defend Rita, he is zapped by a soldier, murdering him. Rita delves into his heart cavity and pulls out the heart paperclip she hung there. Rouge flees. A man in Malcolm’s mask stands before Rouge now. Rita unmasks to face Rouge. She tells the Dadas Rouge is ready and they all go to a wooded spot. The egg in the cage develops a winged face resembling Malcolm. No chance of Rouge escaping her prison. Rita does instead, and a flock of birds follows. Rouge morphs into one and joins the flock. The Dadas vanish. When a bird flies directly at Larry, he vanishes. The rest of the Doom Patrol is zapped one by one.
