The episode begins with Steven Sharpe/Gambler arriving at his new mobile home, 12 hours before the end of the previous episode. He hangs a picture of his newborn daughter and settles in comfortably, but Crock/ Sportsmaster waits outside. As Sharpe looks for Baby Becky, Crock fights the urge to be evil and exact retribution. Sharpe doesn’t notice his automobile as he forcibly starts to drive away. Courtney gathers the group in the present to talk about The Gambler’s murder. Sylvester and the team debate. Yolanda is certain Cindy is at fault because she was holding a murder weapon while standing over the body. Cindy maintains that she was investigating Sharpe’s involvement with the No Limit Gang in the present.   The laptop belonging to Sharpe is still missing, and based on the evidence amassed, whoever has it is the murderer. Rick, who was disturbed by Sylvester’s assertion that Solomon Grundy might still be alive, pays a visit to his grave. Courtney reads Becky’s card repeatedly while she is by herself in her room. She admits to Pat that she is aware that The Gambler/Sharpe was making an effort to behave better. Pat offers to assist and promises to interrogate the other bad guys.

The JSA covers the cause of death at school. Beth learns Sharpe was not shot, but rather stabbed in the heart. Cindy overhears and rushes over, angry. Yolanda confronts her because she is still certain that she is the murderer. The Shade meets Pat and Sylvester later at the diner. Shade asserts that he went to Sharpe’s residence to offer a fresh start following their altercation at the cafe. Before Pat separates them, Sylvester doesn’t trust him, and things get heated between the two. Courtney and Pat decide to give Sharpe’s letter to Rebecca after theorizing that the murderer took his laptop. The Crocks are not guilty, Paula informs Barbara the next day. Shade responds to Sylvester’s hard questioning by acknowledging that he did meet Sharpe again to make things right. Following the workout, Courtney makes Sylvester apologize to Shade, but this sparks another altercation. Sylvester proved during his training with Courtney that he had the necessary experience.  When Mike and Jakeem use Thunderbolt to try to identify the killer, they discover that the killer goes under several different names. With his abilities harming his hand, Cameron finds it difficult to continue painting. That evening, Cindy tries to open Sharpe’s laptop, Rick focuses on the amulet, and Crusher and Paula predict that one of their secrets will soon be revealed.
