Evan Hawkins died. Violet, Hawkins’s girlfriend Violet, was haunted by it. He risked his career for her. He died helping a fire victim before being moved. Violet needed time off work following. She couldn’t wake up or dress. She rested. Luckily, her partner’s temp wasn’t Emma. Emma temped. She aspired. She blackmailed Violet to remove her. Emma revealed herself at work. Violet kept her job after her firing. The new temp was safe. He talks about manga characters like Brett should know. Brett skipped manga. She doesn’t understand her new temporary partner’s conversation. She nodded at everything the new guy said. He liked talking to himself. He didn’t notice Brett’s indifference. She mostly hid in the locker rooms. Brett only appeared when talking to her buddies. Violet worried everyone. Hermann and Cindy left food with Violet’s super because Violet didn’t open her door. Violet also ignores friends’ calls and texts.

Brett claimed Violet needed time alone, but that was untrue. Violet moved out. She visited the man Hawkins saved in the hospital. Violet stayed by his bedside for hours. She informed a nurse she had to be there to remember that her partner died for nothing. He died helping. Brett and the firefighters saved more individuals. They rescued a youngster buried alive in his Lifesize sandcastle. Nico shared Chief Boden’s son’s age. Boden pulled Nico from the sand. He had done enough and his soldiers had to tear him away. Boden later spoke to Nico’s father. He moved to Chicago before the pandemic. His lonely youngster only learned online. Dad felt a beach trip would cheer him up. The trip nearly killed Nico. Rob vented to Boden. Boden got his point. He informed another dad that kids are strong. They recover faster than adults. Boden saved Rob’s son. Boden worked and thought about his son. Terrance discovered Hawkins’s death recently. He wondered if his dad would die. Boden ensured his safety. Desk job. Once reassured, his son stopped worrying about grownup matters. She chastised him for being messy. She questioned if he had no one else to call. Family? Friends? She asked inquiries and Carver stormed off. He returned to work sober the next day and asked her not to tell Chief Boden about his drinking. Kidd advised him to focus on work. Politics are hers. Kidd pondered telling Boden. She declined the opportunity. She doesn’t know Carver’s deal. Why did he avoid discussing his personal life? She didn’t care. Nope. She’ll go to Boden if it persists. She informed Carver. She warned him. He couldn’t fail. Violet resumed work. After Severide discussed losing a coworker, she realised she was honouring Hawkins by working. Hawkins’ patient’s hospital recovery benefited too. His entire family helped him. Violet healed. Boden’s playtime with Rob and their two sons was great.
