Chicago Fire Season 10 Episode 11 Recap

As Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) prepares coffee, Stella Kidd (Manda Rae Mayo) cuddles up to him. She reminds him that she meant it when she stated she wants to marry him. He assures her they are excellent and they kiss as she tells him she loves him. Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) tells Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende) about her visit with Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer). They call Violet’s floater, Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas), who she thinks was impressive. They can’t be late for the morning briefing, Gallo tells them.

Brett was upbeat when she returned after seeing Casey and found that Chief Hawkins was stepping in for her. The firefighters heard a radio commercial promising a $10,000 prize and decided to enter the contest. They were then dispatched to an accident scene where a truck had collided with a pole and electric cables had been downed. The driver remained unconscious inside the vehicle. A second fire crew arrived to assist and organize the rescue. They secured the wires and attempted to cut the man free until Pelham observed the transformer engulfed in flames and additional lines began to fall. When one firefighter attempted to confine the dancing wires, she was shocked and knocked unconscious!

McBride, the firefighter, was concussed but expected to recover. Pelham and Severide reviewed the transformer briefly when the team returned to the station, concluding that it might have been a malfunctioning unit. McBride accused Chief Boden for forcing her to tie the live wire without the required equipment, according to Chief Boden. Boden enlisted the help of the entire crew, who unanimously agreed.

A request for information was made. Stella checked in with Kelly to see if Pelham’s situation was clear. Pelham received a recommendation from Severide. Later, in the bar, Severide inquired about Pelham’s relationship with McBride, wondering why she blames him. Pelham asked if he may accompany Kelly to the arson section. Kidd had known McBride from Girls on Fire and had paid her a visit in therapy. She inquired about the situation, hoping to get the whole story from her, but she became defensive and returned to the report. Pelham and Severide arrived at the location the next day and established that there was no sightline, and he couldn’t have given her a command if he couldn’t see her.

Stella entered the room and revealed that she had visited McBride and expressed her defensiveness, as well as the fact that something wasn’t quite right. Severide was informed by the arson commander that his suspicions were right. He expressed how much he missed burning the midnight oil with Seager, and Stella had an uneasy feeling about it. Violet was jaded about the accolade when Hawkins proposed her for an award for her activities. Hawkins’ tastes for Violet, according to Gallo, were not professional. A call came in for Sylvie and Voilet regarding a man who was having an incident.

He had a bug in his ear and assumed it was the work of more powerful forces. Violet believes she received the honor because Hawkins likes her. Violet went to Hawkins because she didn’t think she deserved anything after they both saved the infant. When she inquired about his feelings for her, he stated that his personal decisions have no bearing on his profession. They came so near it looked like they were going to kiss, but Hawkins advised them to separate for a time. She concurred. When Boden went to see McBride’s commander, he found out that Chief Don Kilborne had paid her a visit before she filed her report. Kilborne, he believes, had her falsify her report to work for Pelham. Boden apprehended Kilborne and accused him of putting pressure on McBride. Kilborne proposed a different idea, stating Pelham had made a mistake and challenging him to prove any other version!

The 51 was dispatched to downtown Chicago to assist in the removal of broken glass. Then one of the onlookers discovered the contest clue and won the $10,000 prize. Boden expressed his concerns to Pelham, who inquired as to why he was being pursued. It was because Pelham forced his friend to leave the company.  Boden visits Jason Pelham. Jason offers him a beer as Boden informs him that his case is closed. Boden says they are proposing termination and Jason asks how awful it is. . Boden sees Jason upset.
