Bob Hearts Abishola Season 3 Episode 1 Recap

When we last saw Bob Hearts Abishola, the core pair of the CBS sitcom had stuck a pin in their wedding and boarded a plane to Lagos. Abishola was dead set on rescuing Dele from his ex-husband Tayo and returning him to Detroit, where he reportedly belonged. Dele’s mother, on the other hand, appeared to have a change of heart shortly after arriving in Nigeria. Was it actually better for her son to return to Michigan? At the close of Monday’s Season 3 premiere, she asked her soon-to-be-husband Bob that question. He reasoned that if Dele is to grow up to be a doctor, he must attend the best schools, and he had already made arrangements for him to attend the famed British International School. He pointed out that Dele had already passed the admission exam, an accomplishment that would not have been possible if Abishola hadn’t reared him so well.

Abishola took her son to her mother’s house right away. Ebunoluwa, who we finally saw in person, refused to let Tayo in when he came to get him. While she agreed with Tayo that Dele’s best interests would be served by staying in Nigeria, she supported her daughter’s decision to return him to America. Tayo, on the other hand, proved to be just as obstinate. He assured Bob that neither he nor Abishola would accompany Dele out of Nigeria. Bob received a call from his conflicted fiancée a few moments later.p She and Bob planned to travel home without Dele, but first they planned to marry in Lagos, where Dele and the rest of her family would be present. Kemi, Christina, Douglas, and Dottie arrived in Nigeria to attend Bob and Abishola’s wedding as the episode came to a close.
