911 Season 6 Episode 17 Recap: Maddie, Chimney Finally Engaged!

In 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 17 of the popular first-responders drama, Athena (played by Angela Bassett) and her team of firefighters were called to action when a bank robbery interrupted a romantic wedding proposal. Adrienne Barbeau portrays a bride who encounters an unexpected obstacle on her way to the altar. Kayla Ewell from TVD and Ben Lewis from DC’ Arrow play a couple whose romantic proposal takes an unexpected turn when a bank robbery occurs. As she waits for her lover Griffin, Blair eats lunch in the lobby of a bank. He jumps out of the heavens and proposes to her. His balloon gets caught under a truck’s car and pulled down onto the sidewalk before she can answer yes. While the 118 attends to Griffin’s stabilization after the collision, Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) successfully apprehends the suspect who was driving the truck. Griffin, who had been holding onto the ring while the dragging, pops the question to Blair, who accepts. Later, she explains to Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Eddie Diaz (Ryan Guzman) that the events of the moment were the sole reason she agreed to anything. Chimney buys an expensive engagement diamond and resolves to forget about his failed proposal by working double shifts.

The group makes fun of Eddie on the way to a call for talking about how he wants to meet someone and rekindle the spark he had with Shannon. Lois, a bride-to-be whose carriage broke down on the route to the ceremony, is the caller’s first concern. After they stabilize her, she begs them not to rush her to the hospital for further examination, and Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) offers to take her to the ceremony instead. Athena visits a woman whose spouse passed away in her home with the help of hospice services. She explains everything to Athena, and the two of them commiserate over their losses.

In a shocking turn of events, Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney have taken their relationship to the next level and are now officially engaged! In a dramatic turn of events, the former character experienced a sudden panic upon stumbling upon the ring in Jee-Yun’s dollhouse. This initial shock quickly escalated into a full-blown emotional breakdown when she found herself with the ring mistakenly stuck on her finger. In a twist of fate, Maddie’s anxiety dissipated only after confiding in Hen (Aisha Hinds), the sole individual who had expressed apprehension regarding Chimney’s proposal. Luckily, she made the right decision. Maddie, with Jee-Yun by her side, gives Chimney a large diamond engagement ring and he agrees.

In the meantime, in the world of the Buckleys, one family member was experiencing a string of unfortunate events in the realm of romance. As Evan Buck he was on a date with Natalia Dollenmeyer (Annelise Cepero), he unexpectedly ran into Lucy, who had apparently transitioned to air support following her time with the 118. Buck (Oliver Stark), looking flustered, adamantly denied having any information to share about his non-existent relationship with Lucy.

In a dramatic turn of events, Buck’s past comes back to haunt him once again as the stunning Taylor makes a surprise appearance on the news, sharing details about her time with the 118. Natalia was once more prepared to put up with this flashback to their previous relationship, but she was less forgiving when a  pregnant Kameron (Chelsea Kane) came up at his door in need of an area to rest.

While accompanying Christopher to the hardware store, Eddie inquires as to the origins of his relationship with Athena. Eddie, who spends the hour desperately seeking… anybody. In a desperate attempt to recapture the enchantment of their initial encounter, he aimlessly roamed the streets of Los Angeles, eagerly awaiting a serendipitous moment of fate. As fate would have it, he stumbled upon Marisol (Edy Ganem) at the hardware store, reigniting a glimmer of hope for their future together.
