The episode focused on Missy beginning her rebellious period and George and Mary’s marriage begins to fall apart. Missy calls Paige, and the two of them make the decision to flee together to Daytona Beach. Meanwhile, her family and friends are worried about her. Sheldon tells his mom and dad that he thinks Missy ran off with Paige.  They enjoy getting into mischief together and connecting over shared struggles. When George discovers his truck is gone, he is the first to realize they disappeared. They contact Paige’s mom, Linda, after hearing from Sheldon that Missy maintains contact with her daughter. Missy is pulled over by a police officer in Louisiana, and she immediately confesses to the officer everything she has been doing wrong. Later, the girls assist with the use of a radar gun to catch speeders. In the car on the way to retrieve them, George, Mary, and Linda had a conversation about the marriage of the Coopers and Linda’s divorce. George laughs at the suggestion that Linda and he should see a marriage counselor, and the three of them argue with one another over the challenges that each of them faces as parents. Sheldon remains at home with Connie since he doesn’t understand Missy’s actions. While feeling down about the situation, Missy tells her mother and father that she preferred it when they didn’t argue while she was in the car with them. According to adult Sheldon, Missy’s “tough” times are only beginning.

Young Sheldon’s fate after season 7 has been up for debate due to the accepted narrative of The Big Bang Theory.
