What happened in Yellowstone Season 4 Episode 8?

Kayce is still looking for the horses that were reported stolen but have yet to be found. When Beth arrives at her new workplace, she learns that the plans to rebuild Yellowstone and its environs are considerably more advanced than she had imagined. Jamie, on the other hand, continues to bond with his newly discovered son, his father Garrett, and his ex-girlfriend Christina. Garrett approaches Christina and asks if she will assist in the organization of Jamie’s campaign for Governor of the State.

John’s occasional love interest in Governor Parry pays him a visit at the ranch to inform him that she is running for the United States Senate and is ready to support Jamie for Governor. John has serious questions about Jamie’s commitment and ability to serve as Governor and suggests that he may run for Governor himself. Later, John verifies his suspicions about Jamie, as well as his own ambitions to run for Governor, with Beth. At the conclusion of the episode, Jamie believes he is ready to accept the current Governor’s endorsement for his own campaign, when she unexpectedly declares publicly that she is endorsing John as her preferred choice for the new Governor, rather than Jamie.
