Sherri’s world came crumbling down four years later when it was discovered that she had staged her own kidnapping in order to see her ex-boyfriend. Following her arrest, Sherri was given an 18-month jail sentence for her role in a nearly successful, sophisticated conspiracy in which she lied to federal officials, caused mass panic in the neighborhood, and wasted police time and funds. Sherri’s loving husband, Keith, is played by Matt Hamilton. The primary photography for the crime drama movie “Hoax: The Kidnapping of Sherri Papini” began on November 3, 2022, and it lasted for a total of 15 days before it was completed on November 18, 2022. It was shot in Kelowna, British Columbia, and more specifically in the city of Vancouver.  Even though the events of the novel take place in Redding, California, the filmmakers decided to shoot the movie in British Columbia because the province’s expansive and varied terrain made it an ideal stand-in site for the story’s setting.

Greater Vancouver is located in the province of British Columbia According to the appearances, the production team appears to have visited many different locations throughout the region in order to record a variety of situations, both inside and outside, against appropriate backgrounds. It would appear that this also applies to the city of Maple Ridge, which is located between the Golden Ears mountain peaks and the Fraser River.
