The Afterparty Season 2 Episode 6 Spoilers

Episode 6 of the ten-episode season signals the halfway point and promises more thrilling developments in the coming episodes. The show has already stunned its viewers, and it appears that there may be more unanticipated turns in store.

The focus of the sixth episode titled “Danner’s Fire,” of The Afterparty season 2, turns from specific murder suspects to Danner’s background. Danner’s exact reason for leaving the service is unclear.  The focus of the episode is on Danner’s real reason for leaving the police department, and in a style akin to a hot ’90s thriller, she will tell Aniq her fascinating tale.

The Afterparty Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

In the fifth episode titled “Sebastian,” tensions rise between the Zhu and Minnows family as Isabel accuses Grace (Poppy Liu) of killing her son, Edgar. In retaliation, Zoe reveals that Hannah’s garden provided the poison that was used to kill Edgar. Then Isabel implies that Grace and her family planned Edgar’s murder in order to inherit his money. Sebastian is running the company without Edgar at the moment. He is being looked into by Aniq and Danner as the upcoming murder suspect. Danner confronts Sebastian about Edgar firing him just before the wedding.

Sebastian’s evidence reveals Edgar’s beginnings as a small-time hustler and how they eventually became friends and business partners. He adds that his only motivation was to obtain a priceless baseball card that represented their friendship, not to harm Edgar. Sebastian acknowledges planning a heist to take Edgar’s cryptocurrency, but he disputes that he was responsible for his death.

Despite Sebastian’s convincing defense of his innocence, there are still some questions. The matter becomes more complicated when he admits that it was Ulysses who had tampered with a drink at the pub. Sebastian’s evidence raises the prospect of a bigger conspiracy involving other wedding guests, therefore Danner and Aniq are in a catch-22 situation because they cannot entirely rule him out as a suspect. In the last moments of the episode, Danner decides to carry on the investigation and tells Aniq why she’s quitting her position as a police detective.
