Superman and Lois Season 2 Episode 5 Recap

In a flashback to 1979, Ally is a young girl who inherits a weird purple pendant and her father’s mission to use it to improve the world. Ally still wears the pendant as she leads her cult over 40 years later. Chrissy Beppo is still concerned about Lois’ journalistic honesty, so she chooses to approach Ally personally as part of her Inverse Method inquiry. Instead, Ally poisons Chrissy and places her pendant on her as part of a macabre ascension ritual to indoctrinate Chrissy into the cult, with Chrissy having images of an inverted world in which Ally is a constant, dominant presence. General Anderson refuses to help Superman track down Bizarro after losing the majority of his Superman squad to the inverted supervillain, despite the fact that Anderson notices that Superman and Bizarro’s common link appears to be strengthening them when they’re together. Bizarro is the subject of his own investigation after assassinating Doctor Faulkner, the lady in charge of the mining operation that first discovered Bizarro. Chrissy’s indoctrination is interrupted just in time for Superman and Lois to save Ally from Bizarro as he attacks. After a super-powered brawl, Superman manages to control Bizarro, only to discover that the military is more engaged than he first thought.

Jonathan, jealous of Jordan’s attention from their grandfather Sam Lane, take a performance-enhancing medication and pummels Jordan in a sparring match, startling both Jordan and Sam. Following this tense training, the Kent family celebrates Sarah’s quinceanera, where Sarah learns that her father Kyle had a relationship with a bartender named Tonya, a relationship that Lana’s mayoral partner is about to uncover. At the quinceanera, Sarah tells Lana about her father’s affair, while Chrissy approaches Lois and tells her about her brief time under the Inverse Method’s thrall, which revealed an entire realm controlled by a vision of Ally. Back at the Kent farm, Jordan notices that Jonathan is gaining superpowers of his own, despite his brother’s use of pharmaceuticals. Jonathan battles his drug-induced rage and persuades Jordan not to tell their parents about his abilities for the time being. Superman arrives to Tal-Fortress Rho’s of Solitude, where Bizarro is being held captive and watched by a hologram of Lara. Bizzaro now speaks more clearly, echoing what Anderson earlier said to Superman about the nature of losing warriors in war, and warns him.
