Joe Pickett Season 2 Episode 8 Recap

Joe Pickett’s Season 2 Episode 8 changes the action to six weeks before when Marissa is spotted in the woods with the “wolf pack.” She accepts their offer of a drink, but after taking a sip, she feels lightheaded and wakes up the following morning forgetting what happened. When Joe phones Marybeth to share the news with her in the present, she directs him to Charlie’s because the issue is far from done. Gloria meets Joe and Marybeth and tells them everything that transpired with Hank and the team, including her own rape. They then proceed to the police station to speak with Sheriff Barnum about the situation.

Sheriff Barnum photographed the wolf pack, it is discovered. When Joe and Marybeth understand how important it is to learn who took the picture, they show Barnum. However, Barnum deceives them into giving him the painting, which he later burns after they have left.

The episode returns us to Marissa and Shannon’s meeting, where Marissa plans to provide the evidence to the police. Marissa learns that Sheriff Barnum is the person she would be giving the evidence to, and she is surprised to see him because she remembers him from the camping. Marissa exits the police station after realizing Barnum is one of the offenders and contacts Shannon to let her know. Unfortunately, Sheriff Bud Barnum (Patrick Gallagher ) shoots and kills Marissa while they are on the phone.

In the final scene of the episode, Sheriff Barnum strikes a deal with Shannon under which she will not be prosecuted provided she escapes from prison while being moved there and remains away. Shannon discovers while driving that Barnum has no intention of letting her go. They come across Marybeth (played by Julianna Guill) , who has her truck blocking the road and is willing to take care of the prisoner, though. At this cliffhanger, the episode concludes.
