After the death of Father Khatri, Boyd was in pain. He intends to carry on the work of Father Khatri. As a result, he kidnaps Sara and conceals her in a cabin in the woods. Meanwhile, the episode takes us back to Boyd’s initial visit to the town in a series of flashbacks. Because of a fallen tree, he, his wife Abby, and their kid Ellis were stranded on the road. They were drawn to the town by the woods. Father Khatri appeared out of nowhere and whisked the family away to safety before they were confronted by any of the beasts. Julie, on the other hand, is experiencing a nervous breakdown as a result of what she saw. From fleeing with Victor to hiding inside a tree, she has been whisked away to a new location. Jim arrives out of nowhere and starts stressing Julie out until Simon pulls him outside.

The situation settles down, and they both agree to construct a radio tower in order to communicate with the outside world. Julie has concerns about her parents’ divorce. Boyd’s wife begins to believe it’s all a dream, and that once everyone wakes up, they’ll be able to leave. As a result, she begins to shoot everyone until she is forced to point the pistol at her own kid. Boyd unintentionally shoots her before she can pull the gun in order to save their son. Boyd says his goodbyes to Ellis before venturing into the woods with Sara at the end of the episode.
