CHICAGO MED Season 10 Episode 6 Recap

The episode starts with Sharon Goodwin, who has been running Chicago Med through many tough times and has shown a lot of strength. She has to deal with a new, very personal threat tonight. Patrick Dunn, a former employee who stalked and even confronted Goodwin, gets more security from the Chicago Police Department. Sharon’s boyfriend Dennis wants to keep her safe by moving in with her. but Sharon isn’t ready for that kind of commitment yet. The police know Dunn is the threat because he sent scary messages on social media after being fired from Med’s radiology department. Goodwin is shocked because she remembers him as a calm and polite man. But when Detective Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) shows her Dunn’s most recent posts, she realizes things are worse than she thought.

At the same time, Dr. Archer and Dr. Lenox (Nicolette Robinson) are taking care of two teenage boys who were hurt in a rockslide at a disciplinary camp at the hospital. Cody and Jordan show up at Med hungry, cold and clearly traumatized. Cody doesn’t remember much about the camp because he has amnesia, but Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) eventually finds a hidden trauma that has changed him forever. Dr. Charles finds out that Cody saw his father die many years ago but didn’t do anything because he wanted to keep his mother safe. Cody’s mind is heavy because of this choice and Dr. Charles suggests that he keep going to therapy to help him deal with these painful memories.

Archer and Lenox have a disagreement about how to treat Jordan at the same time. Jordan is seriously hurt and needs surgery on his brain, but the two doctors don’t agree on the best way to do it. Lenox wants to move quickly, so since Jordan’s parents can’t be reached, he gets permission from a camp counselor to do the dangerous surgery. Unfortunately, there are problems with the surgery and Jordan does not survive. This causes Archer and Lenox to get angry with each other. The tension between the two doctors makes it more likely that they will fight again in later episodes.

When a young man tries to steal supplies from the mobile clinic Maggie is running outside of the hospital, things get dangerous for Maggie. Maggie quickly figures out that the thief is helping his cousin Sylvie, a high school student who is about to give birth and wants to keep her mother from finding out. Maggie helps with the delivery and understands the girl’s fears by thinking back to the hard times she had as a teen mother. Sylvie has mixed feelings about keeping the baby, but in the end she decides to become a mom with the help of her mother, Donna. Donna comes to the hospital and is shocked at first, but then she gets over it and holds her granddaughter, whom they name Sophia.

In the last few scenes, Goodwin’s scary ordeal with her stalker comes to a sad end. The Chicago Police Department tries to catch Dunn, but he kills himself during a standoff, which shocks Goodwin. The episode ends on a tense note, indicating that Sharon may soon need to step in to solve the problem between Lenox and Archer, as their next fight is just around the corner.
