The show begins with a young Smurf trying on a diamond bracelet in a jewelry store in tonight’s Animal Kingdom episode. Three people appear out of nowhere in the jewelry store and begin spraying for termites while wearing masks. When Smurf complains about the scent, the store manager tells him that she has to leave because the odor is too overwhelming. When she leaves, the three men draw their weapons and proceed to loot the jewelry store. Meanwhile, Smurf boards a truck, and the three masked shooters flee, but not before snatching a security camera. Janine was one of the masked robbers.
Fast forward to the present day, Pope (Shawn Hatosy) exits his truck, a gun drawn, and arrives at Liam’s house, where he discovers him swimming in the pool and draws his weapon. Henry is studying in the kitchen when Pope appears and informs him that they must leave. When J is unable to locate Deran, he leaves a note for him to contact him. He goes over to Craig and informs him that he hasn’t been able to locate Deran. He informs him that Livengood’s card has made its way into Pete’s possession. Craig claims that Deran took care of the Adrian issue. J (Finn Cole) informs him that Deran forced him to relocate the cocaine. Adrian was Deran’s problem, and now he’s all of our troubles, according to J.
Craig does some cocaine before slamming a beer on Cody’s door. Then we see Pope, who is in the truck with Liam and Henry, and Liam accuses Cassie of being a shit-mother. Pope pulls over and draws his weapon. Liam’s wrists and feet are chained as Pope lead him out into the desert. Pope grabs a sort and tosses it into the air, leaving Liam with a bottle of water. Craig arrives at the bar and informs Deran that Pete flushed the c#caine. Craig goes out. Returning to the young Smurf and the heist. They detonate a bomb in the desert and flee in another truck.
Craig goes on a robbery rampage while high on coke. Jake’s wife arrives at the trailer, enraged with him, and proceeds to get a baseball bat and anything else she can hit with it. When J and his uncles meet with Lark, she informs them that they must sign an addendum granting them equal interests and ownership over Smurf’s estate. He inquired as to how long it would take to divide everything, and the lawyer suggested that his uncles simply buy him out. Smurf approaches her and takes her by the hair, threatening her and accusing her of hitting her husband.
When Henry asks Pope if he killed his father, he replies that he did not. When Henry inquires as to why Pope is doing this, he responds that children should be with their mothers if they are decent mothers. Craig is shot while on his killing rampage, and the money he stole is lost. Cassandra is delivered by Pope, who offers her some money and urges her to leave because she needs to get to the Canadian border. Deran (Jake Weary) pays Pete a visit and accuses him of lying. Pete informs him that the next time he, his nephew, or his brothers arrive, they would not be leaving.
At Cody headquarters, Deran, Craig, and J eventually meet up. Deran informs J that he told him to move the coke to Pete’s, not the other way around. All hell breaks loose with the three of them when Deran attacks J for stating he didn’t have the bravery to shoot his boyfriend. The three end up fighting in the pool till Pope nearly drowns. Later, J begins collecting his belongings, and Pope comes to discover a shambles. When Pope asks what happened, Deran responds that he has been gone for a long time and asks where he has been. Pope claims to have returned home. Deran asks if he’s going to keep being psycho or has he gotten his act together, and they hug. . Deran and Craig are caring about their aches and pains when Craig straightens out Deran’s crooked nose before saying it’s still ugly. When Pope notices J packing, he inquires as to where he is going. J claims he’s leaving, Pope replies he’s not, thus J should return his belongings. Pope then threatens to track him down if he flees. He tells him to ice his eye.
